~2010 had 48 graduating students from 14 different nations~
What do we do on SBS???

Why? So the Gospel gets taken to the ENDS OF THE EARTH

Team to Nepal To equip students to inductively study Gods word so that they can turn around, after the 9 months of SBS, and bring it to nations where Bible training is either very limited or non-existent. (this part is a school called TITUS)
On January 24th, we will be sending out teams to the following countries to extend what they were taught in SBS and to teach
the Christian leaders of these nations:

games this Christmasseason and were able
to share the reasonof Christmas to them.
In April 2010, Joel began a ministry at Mackay Medical University where he leads a weekly English class/Bible Study for the doctors in training there. Please pray for him as he is building relationships with the students and as he shares Jesus with them!

*** These are a just a few of the things that God is doing here in Taiwan ***
We saw hundreds of Taiwanese get saved and baptized this year!A big church plant has started out of YWAM and already there are over 60 people in these churches and they are growing.We have seen Bible studies started in motorcyle shops and breakfast restaurants.The Surf Ministry has really taken off and has had many great opportunities to share with the surfers of Taiwan. They have had surf competitions and movie/testimony nights with great responses from both. Through Joels teaching of Acts, a guy has committed to staying in Taiwan for TEN years to reach out to the skating community and has already had a great turnout.Basketball ministry has began and the leaders of that do a weekly Bible study with the guys (check out a video explaining this ministry here)

A look into 2011 for the GillmansWe will continue staffing the SBS which will have 60 students and 25 staff. The school begins at the end of MarchJoel will continue being on base leadership.Joel will continue doing evangelism at the Medical UniversityGrace will continue running moms group for the other missionary mothers.
Anything new in 2011?Grace has been spending a lot of time praying and planning on starting a moms group for the locals. God has given her a HUGE heart for families here in Taiwan and it is heavy on her heart to reach out to them. Hopefully, that will get off of its feet and a new ministry for families can be started here!

Both Grace and Joel have taken to running this past year. Grace finised her first half-marathon on 12/19 and we will both do one on March 6th
Joels brother, Josh, is planning on marrying beautiful Rebecca, in San Diego, in the early summer. This means that we will be in California for a few weeks in just a few months!
Prayer Points for 2011~ Prayer is the MOST important thing that you can do for us ~
1. Taiwanese - that not only will they hear the Gospel but they will be open and receptive to it!
2. SBS - that the 60 students will be transformed by the Bible during the 9 months of studying and that they will take it to the ends of the Earth when they are done studying here in Taiwan. Also that God will speak through Joel as he prepares for all of his teachings. His first will be the book of Romans in May!
3. Our family - Health. Wisdom on parenting. Patience and grace for our children. Continue growing in our relationship with God. Continue to grow in love for one another among the 4 of us!
4. Finances - We are praying for an increase of 700 dollars a month this next year. This is our biggest and greatest need.

Joining our TeamAs missionaries, we live on a volunteer basis, living on no-salary of any kind. We pay for all of our own ministry and living expenses. It is not our desire to come to you every newsletter, asking you to consider becoming a part of our team financially, but we do want you to be aware of where we are at financially and what our needs are.
We do not have any mega-church or large organization of any kind supporting us but a collection of individuals just like you. We love this because it gives every body a chance to be involved in missions, one way or another. We are trusting God to provide 700 more dollars to our monthly support.
