ABOUT GGBAFounded in 1974, the Golden Gate Business Association (GGBA) is the nation’s first LGBT Chamber of Commerce and the first business organization founded by LGBT entrepreneurs. With members who live and do business across San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Marin counties, and beyond, GGBA proudly serves as the voice for the San Francisco / Bay Area’s LGBT business community.
Our mission is to champion
opportunitydevelopmentand advocacy for our LGBT & Alliedbusiness community
MISSION
VISIONWe envision an economically empowered San Francisco/Bay Area LGBT business community that inspires others. We will empower our small business entrepreneurs and professionals, collaborate with non-profit advocates, and engage with business and civic leaders to support policies that foster a more inclusive and welcoming business community.
VALUESOur values are inherent to our identity as an organization. They guide the way we work with our members, our community, and with each other. They are: SERVICE, LEADERSHIP, PASSION, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION, and SUCCESS. Through these values, GGBA looks to support a culture where ideas can blossom, individuals can thrive, and our entrepreneurial spirit can flourish.
.
Dear GGBA Members and Friends,Thanks to rededicated efforts from our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers, membership in GGBA is up more than 75% from September 2013 to February 2014. We have no doubts that this new energy amongst our GGBA members and LGBT business community means that GGBA’s 2014 Pride Business Expo will be bigger, better, and an important part of your community engagement strategy in 2014.
The expo is the centerpiece of GGBA’s annual programming, giving GGBA members the opportunity to showcase their business to hundreds of attendees. This must-attend networking event features more than 75 exhibitors, hors d’oeuvres from a variety of Bay Area restaurants and samplings from premium vineyards and breweries.
This year’s expo will be on Thursday, June 12, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. at the Hotel Whitcomb. There are several new additions to this year’s program schedule:
‣ We invite you to join us for a luncheon with your fellow business leaders, where we will provide you with a State of the Chamber Update and an engaging keynote speaker.
‣ After the luncheon and throughout the rest of the day, we will provide attendees with a robust lineup of educational workshops and panel discussions. Mid-afternoon sessions will focus on business growth, marketing, and strategy, while evening sessions will focus on business to consumer topics like planning for your wedding, securing your financial future, understanding the real estate market, and much more.
‣ At 4 p.m., we invite you to join us for our GGBA Board of Directors Reception, to meet your fellow members who are setting the course for your Chamber’s future.
If you are interested in becoming an event sponsor or exhibitor, we encourage you to review the contents in this brochure and contact the GGBA office, 415-362-4422 or [email protected], for more information. We look forward to seeing you at the Expo!
Sincerely,
