People lineup for food and clothing every Saturday

morning in the parking lot of Roberts Park United Methodist Church. The

line winds around the large parking lot with at least 100 persons politely

waiting for a chance to get a morning breakfast and

some clothing. Folks stand outside in all kinds of weather to be served. Recently a new twist on clothing distribution has been developed through the work of Bob and Deb Coop Wurster and their

church. They take requests and sizes and the following week deliver to the clients the requested lightly used clothing. All the while, GFC provides health care and hygiene

items through our mobile unit as the crowd gets

breakfast and something to wear.

Our beloved executive director for the last 24+ years, Rebecca Seifert, plans to retire at the end of this calendar year. Rebecca, a Master of Social Work by trade, started with GFC as our only full-time employee. Over these many years, she directed our organization through amazing growth adding the state’s only respite care facility (at the time), a fully equipped dental facility, and a woman’s health care program. She leads a dedicated staff who delivers medical, dental care and housing for men and women. Everyone who knows Rebecca recognizes her dedication, passion and caring for staff and clients. She does not hold back from getting involved in our patient’s lives and their care, even when it becomes complicated and time consuming. She has mentored numerous students and employees who now serve our community in various ways. Through her networking, GFC is known for our efforts to provide health care to the disadvantaged of Indianapolis. Rebecca’s labor-of-life has been seeing to the success of our organization. Our volunteers, staff, donors and clients have been led by a hero. Indianapolis honors Rebecca Seifert and will be ever grateful. -Dr. James Trippi, Founder and Board President

The formal search process for the new executive director launches in August. Interviews will occur in September. The target start date for the new executive director is in the month of November pending the completion of the search process. Charitable Advisors has been hired to assist the Gennesaret board in the search.

GFC News…. Needed Now: 1) We distribute hygiene items (personal size soap, shampoo, body cream, toothpaste, combs, mouth wash etc.) to those living outdoors. Please help! In the winter months, socks, hats, gloves, scarves, pocket warmers and large size coats are especially needed. 2) Volunteer physicians and dentists—consider
