4. Thefirststart

First the Eltako GFVS-Touch should be connected to the power supply system. Then you can turn on the Eltako GFVS-Touch. During startup you will see the following dialog:

If necessary, you can change this into the recovery mode to restore a system backup. If no entry is made the Eltako GFVS-Touch will be startet after 10 seconds.

A Linux operating system and the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software are already installed. Eltako GFVS 3.0 software launches automatically after switching on.

Eltako GFVS 3.0 software is running.

At the bottom of the screen there is a taskbar. Besides date and time, icons for the network connection and the code meter control display are being shown.

4.1 Operation

The touch screen can be operated without a mouse or keyboard, just with your fingertips. For a more precise input there is the stylus on the left. The menu allows a virtual keypad overlay. By long press on an item the context menu appears.

4.1.1 RightmousebuttonPressing a long time on the screen will be recognized as a right click. This enables you to call the context menu.

Alternatively, you can click on the time and date range and then on the desktop. This also opens the GFVS menu.

4.1.2 TouchkeyboardVia „Menu - System Settings - Touch-Keyboard“ you can open the on-screen keyboard:

4.1.3 VolumecontrolRight-click on the time and date range opens the volume control.

4.2 Menu

The menu is invoked by right-clicking on the background.

Alternatively, you can click on the time and date range and then on the desktop. This also opens the GFVS menu.

4.3 EltakoGFVS3.0software

Eltako GFVS 3.0 software is launched via the menu item „GFVS 3.0“.

A detailed manual is available through „manuals – Eltako GFVS 3.0 manual“.

4.4 Date/time

Here you can adjust the date and time.

Here the language can be changed.

4.6 Networksettings

With „System Settings - Network Settings“, the configuration of network cards can be adjusted.

4.7 Remotesettings

Via the menu item „System Settings - Remote Settings“ you can make further settings for remote access.

If you connect another computer via a crossover cable to the LAN port of the Eltako GFVS-Touch, you can directly access it with a remote client (eg TightVNC).

The preconfigured password is: password.

The LAN interface is configured to operate in a network with DHCP.

i Note: In recovery mode, the LAN interface has the IP 192.168.168.100.

4.8 BSC-BAPFinder

The BSC-BAP finder is used for configuration of BAPs and will be opened via menu item „system tools - BSC-BAP finder“.

4.9 GFVSsettings

The menu item „Create logfiles“ generates log files that document possible errors and provide solutions for the technical support.

With the „Hide main window“ you can adjust the size of the overview window to associated PC clients.

„TeamViewer Startup“ integrates the Team Viewer to the Startup. To accept the setting, a restart is required.

„Hide main window“ starts the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software with the overview window. The buttons of the main window will be integrated into the menu „Configuration“.

4.10 Presets

4.10.1 LicenseThe Eltako GFVS-Touch comes with an activated Eltako GFVS 3.0 license. If re-activation is required, a Eltako GFVS 3.0 license key is attached.

4.10.2 DatabaseFor data storage a PostgreSQL database is set up.

4.10.3 NetworkThe LAN interface is configured to operate in a network with DHCP.

4.11 GFVSupdate

With this menu item, the firmware of the Eltako GFVS-Touch or Eltako GFVS 3.0 software can be updated. The update can be done via the Internet or via USB stick. The file for the update has to be on the USB stick subfolder „/ hc-import/update / *. *“.

If the USB stick is not recognized, it can be mounted with the USB stick by clicking on the icon.

5. Eltakoquickcon®-technology

Permits the setting-up of a simple connection between the Eltako GFVS Server and a Mobile Client without any knowledge of how to change IP addresses (e.g. DynDNS) or disable ports.

Caution: Using the app generates data traffic which may lead to additional costs depending on the mobile radio contract.

Download the Eltako GFVS tablet or the Eltako GFVS Mobile Client from the app shop of your mobile radio system (iPhone -> iTunes, Android -> Google Play) and install.

Configuring the Mobile Client and Eltako GFVS Server

First create a profile in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software using „Configuration - Profiles - Profile Manager“. This defines the rights of the Mobile Client in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software.

Then create a new device in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software using „Configuration - Security - Client - Eltako GFVS 3.0 Mobile“.

Enter the name of the smartphone or tablet.

Then assign a profile to the device. Without a profile the device has no rights in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 Software.

Then transfer the mobile key displayed in the app to the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software.

Connection via quickcon®:

Enter the IMEI of the GFVS Server in the „Server IMEI“ box. You will find this on the device sticker or in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 menu - Info - About Eltako GFVS 3.0.

Alternatively you can also enter the IP address or DynDNS address of the GFVS Server in the „Server Address“ box.

Information: Saving the device name and the IMEI of the mobile device ensures that no unknown device can be connected.

Press the menu button of the smartphone or tablet to select the connection type. If you are in the same network (e.g. at home), use „Activate via LAN“. Otherwise use „Activate via GSM“.

Click the „Key“ button in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software to open a new dialog box to enter your password.

You may enter any password and there are no restrictions.

Then also enter this password in the „Key“ box of the app.

Then press „Activate via GSM“ or „Activate via LAN“ and the following message appears:

6. Systemtools

6.1 GFVStools

With a right click on the background you can see the menu. „System Tools - GFVS tools“ takes you to a dialog in which you can save or restore the system and / or database.

For a backup, absolutely make sure that the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software was completed. Otherwise, an error message appears:

6.1.1 Backup,restoreordeletedatabaseTo back up your database, click on „Backup database“. A gray bar appears at the bottom of the window.

Once the database backup was ended, a new dialog appears. Confirm with „OK“.

After each restart of the Eltako GFVS-Touch, an automatic backup of the database takes place.

If you want to restore an older database, select the database you want from the drop-down box. Alternatively, a database of the delivery status of Eltako GFVS-Touch can be selected.

Once you have selected a database, press the button „Restore database“.

The successful recovery of the database is confirmed with a dialog. Click on „OK“.

To delete a created backup of the database, select from the drop-down menu the appropriate database, then press „delete backup database“ with a click on the button.

In the following dialog you are asked if you want to delete the database. Confirm with „Yes“ to delete the selected database or choose „No“ to cancel the operation.

6.1.2 SystembackupClick on the button „Backup system“ and a backup of your system is created.

If the backup was successful, a new dialog box opens which you end up with „OK“.

The drop-down box „Maximum system backups“ specifies how many backups of your system are stored.

6.1.3 ResetlicenseforlicenseissuesThe button „Delete License“ deletes your Eltako GFVS 3.0 license. Clicking on it will open a window for entering the password. Password: 0000

This option should only be used in an emergency call through the Eltako GFVS 3.0 support. Note that the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software can not be used without a valid license. Furthermore, an Internet connection is required to activate the new license.

Confirm the deletion by clicking „Yes“. In the following dialog you can enter a new license to activate it:

6.2 Repairlicense

The activated Eltako GFVS 3.0 license is backed up every hour in the background.

If this license has been damaged by a power failure or similar, they can be restored using this menu item.

7.2 Copywallpapers

If you would like to use your own background images and custom icons in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software, you can copy them from a USB stick to the Eltako GFVS-Touch.

i Note: The following folder structure has to be setup on an empty USB stick: /hc_import/pictures/*.*. Otherwise, the images are not being copied.

The „Data Transfer“ window is being opened via the menu item „System Settings - Import-Export“. Put a check mark before „Import folder“ and then click the „Import“ button, all files are copied from the folder on the USB stick to the hard drive.

The button „Clear“ empties import, export, or log directory depending on the set hook.

7.3 Exportlog

It is possible to copy the system generated log files on a USB stick. Therefore put a check in front of „Export Directory“ and then click „Export“.

i Note: The following folder structure must be set up on an empty USB stick: /hc_export/*.*. Otherwise, the log files are not being copied.

The button „Clear“ empties import, export, or log directory depending on the set hook.

7.4 Shuttletools

You can switch on or off the webcam stream here, adjust, after how many minutes the screen saver should be activated and adjust the brightness of the display and LED bar.

9. Restoresystembackup

To restore a system backup, click on the menu „Power - Restart in recovery mode“. The Eltako GFVS-Touch shuts down and then starts in recovery mode.

i Note: In recovery mode, the LAN interface has the IP 192.168.168.100.

i Note: Saved databases are not erased during a system recovery.

After booting you will see the System Restore menu:

You now have the choice between „Restore factory default backup“, „Recover user backup“ or „Restart system“.

With the button „Restart system“ you will exit the menu without a system backup restore.

The button „Restore factory default backup“ resets the Eltako GFVS-Touch back to its factory condition. In this case, all data is lost.

To restore a backup, please select from the drop-down box the desired backup and click on „Recover user backup“. The Eltako GFVS-Touch will restart and the following screen appears:

Make sure that the Eltako GFVS-Touch is not disconnected from the power during the recovery process.

10.Notesoncontinuousoperation

The shuttle X50V2 PC Plus is officially enabled for 24-hour continuous operation (24/7).

Requirement for continuous operation:

• Ambient temperature in operation: 5-35°C

• Humidity in operation: 10-80% (non-condensing)

• free air circulation in the vicinity of the PC

• freely accessible ventilation holes

• If a hard disk is installed, it also should have been approved by the manufacturer for 24/7-operation.
