Get your Domain readyFirst, you have to have your Domain in

order to set anything up. In this example,

the Domain used is GoDaddy.com

Go to “Domain Manager”Go to your Domain Manager.

Click on the DomainFor this example, the Domain used is

“R-HOMESLLC.COM”. Click on it.

Your GoDaddy ControlsThis will take you to the Actual Controls

for this Domain. You have to point

this domain to your hosting.

Sign up for hosting at HostGatorLog in with your email address and

password to your HostGator Account.

Enter the “cPanel Login” linkThis will open a new screen on the page.

Go to “cPanel Login”, click on the link.

You are now in HostGatorThis will take you to your HostGator

Account Page.

Click on “View Hosting Packages”Scroll down and to the left side of the

page, you’ll see the “Hosting Packages”,

under which is “View Hosting Packages”.

Hit this link.

The HostGator Control PanelThis is the site you’d want to be since you

have to point your Domain Name from

GoDaddy to this hosting site on HostGator.

HostGator Name ServersScroll all the way down the page to the

portion which has the label “Name Servers”.

Go to “Set Nameservers”Go back to the GoDaddy site.

At the upper portion of the screen, you

will see the tab labeled “Nameservers”.

Click on “Set Nameservers”.

Copy and Paste to GoDaddy fieldPaste this on the GoDaddy Nameserver 1 field.

Click on the last optionThis will open a pop-up window where

there are bullets you can choose from.

Go to the last option “I have specific

nameservers” for my domains.

Grab the 1st Name ServerGo back to HostGator, grab the first Name

Server, copy it.

Do the same for the 2nd Name ServerCopy the 2nd Name Server on HostGator.

Paste on the Nameserver 2 fieldPaste on Nameserver 2 on GoDaddy

On Windows, you can right-click, copy,

right-click, paste, or you may also do

Ctrl+C (copy) then Ctrl+V (paste).

On a MAC, its Command+C, then

Command+V.

Your Domain is Set-upClick “ok” on the Pop-up box once you

have posted the Nameservers. This

will point the domain “R-HOMESLLC.

COM” to the HostGator Account shown.

Your Nameservers are now set, and you

have now learned how to forward

your URL or Domain Name to your

Hosting Account.

Go to HostGator, then “Fantastico de Luxe”On the HostGator Account, go to

Software/Services, then click on

“Fantastico De Luxe”.

What “Fantastico De Luxe” does“Fantastico” installs all programs on the

left-hand column of the page automatically.

If “Fantastico” is not used, it takes time to

install them manually.

Install WordPressClick on “Wordpress”,

then click on “New Installation”.

Choose the DomainChoose the domain you will install it on.

(The example shows multiple domains

but most probably, it will just be a single

domain for you.)

Click on “Finish Installation”Click on “Finish Installation” to proceed.

Fill in the details neededNo need to add anything in the field

“Install in directory”. Enter your

Administrator-username and password.

Provide other infoProvide the admin email youd want to

receive information, input the correct

domain name on the “Site Name”, then

click on “Install WordPress” to install.

Hit the “Back to WordPress Overview” buttonNow the WordPress is configured, together

with its database. Click on “Back

to WordPress overview”.

The WordPress Site is UpWordPress is now installed.

Installing ThesisGo back to the HostGator Control Panel.

Go to “Files”, then click on “File Manager”.

Go to the Domain directoryNow go to the “Home Directory”, then click

on the Drop-down Menu to go to the Domain

Name “r-homesllc.com”. Click “Go”.

Go to “wp-content” folderInside this directory, click on

“wp-content” folder.

Click on “Themes”Go to the Themes folder.

File has been uploadedClick “back” to themes, and you will now

see that the file is already in the folder.

Click “Upload”To upload the Thesis file, click on “upload”.

Upload Thesis file“Browse”, grab the zipped Thesis file,

then upload it.

Extract the zipped fileOnce you’ve uploaded the zip file,

just right-click, click “extract”,

click “extract file”, close.

File is now availableThe folder is now unzipped and available.

Rename “custom sample” folderClick on the Thesis folder, right-click on

“custom-sample”, rename to “custom”.

Back to “Cache” then “Change Permissions”Click on “Up One Level”. Go back to “custom”,

“cache”, right-click then go to

“Change Permissions”.

Go to “layout.css”Open “custom” folder, go to “layout.css”,

right-click to “Change Permissions”.

Change required settingsUnder “User” it should be a total of 6-6-6

for “Read” and “Write”. “Execute”

should not have any check mark.

Click “Change Permissions”.

Change settings as requiredTotal Permission should be 7-7-5 with

only the “Write-World” box without

any check mark. Click “Change Permissions”.

All adjustments on this site are done.

Back to WordPress DomainGo back to your WordPress site,

enter using the previous admin username

and password.

Go to “Themes”On the lower left column of the dashboard,

go to “Appearance”, then “Themes”.

Activate ThesisGo down to Thesis then click “Activate”.

Changes for the betterThe dashboard has been altered and everything

has been changed.

More control with ThesisThe layout has been changed.

Now you will have a lot of control over

your site. Thesis is now installed.
