Importance of Work Experience
Grammar School Applicants: There are many activities and experiences that can make you a more ‘rounded’ applicant. However, relevant work experience is increasingly viewed as an essential part of any good application for higher education and the world of work.
When choosing candidates who are equally good on paper applying for courses/jobs, it could well be the work experience which tips the balance in favour of one candidate over the other.
Research - A recent report outlined that 93% of secondary teachers polled in a YouGov survey believe that participation in employer engagement, careers advice and work experience has a direct impact on academic achievement, particularly for borderline achievers.
Importance of Work Experience
Develop key skills: A work placement provides the opportunity for students to develop key employability skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, communication and time management that graduate recruiters look for.
