Georg Jensen slægtens vævetraditioner trækker tråde mere end et halvt årtusinde tilbage i tiden og er stadig vævet ind i vores tekstiler i dag. For godt håndværk overlever fra generation til generation. Det samme gælder godt design. Georg Jensen Damask er lige dele af begge og af samme grund en kulturbærer inden for dansk designtradition og håndværkshistorie.

Vi ser altid tilbage for at se frem. Får ten-denser og traditioner til at gå hånd i hånd. Sammen med kendte designere som arne Jacobsen, Puk Lippman, Susanne rützou og mange andre følger vi med tiden ved at gøre, som vi altid har gjort. Ved at be-vare vores arv og med tidens ånd i vores hånd skabe brugsting med en lang levetid.

No past, no futureDesign and craft during half a millennium

the threads of the Georg Jensen family’s weaving traditions go more than half a millen-nium back in time and are still woven into our textiles today. Because good craft survives from generation to generation. So does good design. Georg Jensen Damask is equally both and for this reason, a culture bearer within Danish design tradition and history of craft.

we always look back in order to look forward. make trends and traditions go hand in hand. together with well-known designers like arne Jacobsen, Puk Lippmann, Susanne rützou and many more we adapt to contemporary trends by doing what we have always done. with respect for our heritage and the spirit of the present time in our hands, we create design products that last.

Vores kollektion inspirerer til at invitere vævede strukturer indenfor og indrette dig med bløde tekstiler i alle husets rum. De gamle klassikere hører naturligvis stadig hjemme blandt de mange designs i kollektionen, men vi åbner også dørene for en lang række nye boligtekstiler i varme toner. Vi kalder det hverdagsluksus.

welcome to the collectionour collection inspires to invite woven structures inside and use soft texti-les as interior decoration in every room of the house. the classic designs still have a place amongst the many designs in the collection, but we have also opened our door for a number of new home textiles in warm colours. we call it everyday luxury.

Materialerråmaterialer er en stærk tendens, der stam-mer fra ideen om det naturlige og oprinde-lige. Der er derfor fokus på naturmaterialer, som for eksempel træ, sten, hør, hamp og metaller. mens flet, knyt, macrame, banke-de metaller, keramik med løbende glasur er eksempler på råmaterialer, som forarbejdes, men bevarer et håndlavet udtryk.

Håndværkigennem de senere år er fascinationen af de gamle håndværk kommet tilbage. ideen om, at ting tager tid at fremstille, giver det værdi, fordi tid er en luksusvare i sig selv. Strik, træ og læder har været en stærk tendens i indret-ningen gennem længere tid og er det stadig, men nu ser vi også batik, broderier, marmore-ringer og knyttede accessories som en del af udsmykningen.

Farver og mønstreBrugen af farver og mønstre i boligen for-stærkes. Den skandinaviske, neutrale farve-palette får modspil af dybere, mættede og tungere farver og mønstre inspireret af Syd-amerika og det afrikanske kontinent. Denne inspiration ses i kombinationen af farver og en brug af mønstre, som blandes på kryds og tværs som dekoration på vægge og in-den for accessories.

Materialsraw materials are a strong tendency that comes from the idea of the natural and ori-ginal. there is therefore an emphasis on natural materials such as wood, stone, flax, hemp and metals. while braiding, knotting, macrame, hammered metals, ceramics with running glaze are examples of raw materials being processed, yet maintaining a handma-de expression.

Craftsmanshipthrough later years, the fascination of the old crafts has returned. the fact, that things take time to manufacture, adds value to the product, because time itself is a luxury. knit, wood and leather have been prominent trends in interior design for a long time, and they still are. moreover, we now see tie-dye, embroidery, marbling and knotted accessori-es as part of the decoration. like blankets, plaids and pillows.

Colours and patternsthe use of colours and patterns in the home intensifies. the Scandinavian, neutral colour range is challenged by deeper, saturated and heavier colours and patterns inspired by South america and the african continent. this inspiration is obvious in the combinati-on of colours as well as the use of patterns, which are mixed and matched as decoration on walls and within accessories.

Det er farfar og barnebarn, arne og tobias Jacobsen, som står bag den fælles JaCoBSen kollektion.

For tobias er farfaren en stor inspirations-kilde, og tobias bruger en stor del af sin tid på at bære arne Jacobsens designarv videre. arne Jacobsens design pryder allerede Georg Jensen Damasks tekstiler og der tilføres nu nye designs fra både farfar og barnebarn.

”Det var med lige dele glæde og frygt, at jeg sagde ja til denne opgave. Jeg er uddannet guldsmed og har designet alt fra møbler til bestik, men aldrig tekstildesign. arkitektur har altid været en inspiration for mig, hvilket også er tilfældet i denne kollektion”.

tobias har designet BriCkS og bringer samtidig liv til den eksisterende arne JaCoBSen kollektion med GriD og moSaiC baseret på arvede skitser fra sin farfar. et viskestykke og en ny farve er også lanceret i arne JaCoBSen kollektionen.

Grandfather and grandchild, arne and tobias Jacobsen, are co-creators of the JaCoBSen collection.

the grandfather is a great source of inspi-ration to tobias, and he spends most of his time administrating the arne Jacobsen design heritage. arne Jacobsen’s design is already a part of the Georg Jensen collection and is now expanded with new designs from both grandfather and grandson. “i accepted this assignment with an equal sense of awe and joy. i am a professional jeweller and have designed everything from furniture to cutlery, but never textile design. architecture has always been an inspiration to me, which is also the case in this collection”.

tobias Jacobsen has designed BriCkS and brings life to the existing arne JaCoBSen collection with GriD and moSaiC based on sketches inherited from his grandfather. a tea towel and a new colour have also been launched in the arne JaCoBSen collection.

Designer arne JacobsenDen verdenskendte arkitekt og designer arne Jacobsens design er allerede en del af Georg Jensen Damask med en kollektion navngivet efter ham. Designet stammer fra en samling af skitser, som arne Jacobsen efterlod sig ved sin død.

Designer tobias Jacobsentobias Jacobsen er oprindeligt uddannet guldsmed. Senere gik tobias i lære som de-signer og møbelsnedker og blev uddannet fra Danmarks Designskole i 1996. han deler sin store kærlighed til arkitektur og hånd-værk med sin afdøde farfar arne Jacobsen.

Designer arne Jacobsenthe design of the world famous architect and designer arne Jacobsen is already part of Georg Jensen Damask with a collection named after him. the design originates from a collection of sketches, which he left behind at his death.

Designer tobias Jacobsentobias Jacobsen is originally educated as a jeweller. Later on, tobias undertook training as a designer and furniture maker as well as graduating from the Danish Design School in 1996. he shares his great love of architecture and craftsmanship with his late grandfather arne Jacobsen.

Fra første møde med Georg Jensen Damask blev andreas engesvik dybt fascineret af vævningens kvalitet og teknikken, der ligger bag. Det håndtegnede design er derfor skabt som en udfordring til væveprocessen, nemlig at overføre håndens arbejde til den vævede struktur.

Den simple håndtegning er en komplice-ret sag for vævene, fordi mønsteret har en uensartethed i stregen skabt af håndens tryk på blyanten. resultatet er et let, stille og underspillet design, hvor kvaliteten af vævningen til gengæld træder i karakter.

Designer andreas engesvikefter endt uddannelse inden for design og kunsthistorie i 2000 etablerede andreas engesvik ”norway Says” sammen med to andre designere. Seks år senere gik han solo med et designstudie i eget navn, som arbej-der med design af alt fra møbler og bordser-vice til industrielt design.

From his first meeting with Georg Jensen Damask, andreas engesvik became deeply fascinated by the quality of the weaving and the underlying techniques. the hand drawn design is thus created as a challenge to the weaving process, that is, to transfer the work of the hand to the textile.

the simple hand drawing complicates the weaving process, because the pattern has uneven lines created by the pressure on the pencil. the result is a light, quiet and downplayed design, where the quality of the weaving nevertheless stands out.

Designer andreas engesvikafter his education within design and art hi-story in 2000, andreas engesvik established ”norway Says” with two other designers. Six years later, he went solo with a design studio in his own name working with design ranging from furniture and tableware to industrial design.

De flettede julehjerter og stiliserede grankviste i enkelt, skandinavisk design repræsenterer essensen af julestemning gennem generationer. Siden 1975 har dugen indrammet bordet i mange hjem som en fast tradition i julen. Ganske enkelt en klassiker i kollektionen.

Designer Bodil Bødtker-næssBodil Bødtker-næss havde en væsentlig plads i inderkredsen af tekstilkunstnere, som designede for Georg Jensen Damask i 1970erne. Det samme har hendes enkle, stiliserede designs med et skandinavisk udtryk i vores kollektion, for eksempel JuLeDuGen og PåSkeDuGen.

the braided Christmas hearts and styli-sed spruce twigs in a simple, Scandinavian design represent the essence of Christmas atmosphere for generations. Since 1975, the tablecloth has been a traditional part of the Christmas table decoration in many homes. Simply a classic in our collection.

Designer Bodil Bødtker-næssBodil Bødtker-næss had an important place in the inner circle of textile artists, who desig-ned for Georg Jensen Damask in the 1970s. the same has her simple, stylised designs with a characteristic Scandinavian look in the collection, for example the ChriStmaS taBLeCLoth and the eaSter taBLeCLoth.

our bed linen is woven from 100% egyptian cotton. Prior to weaving the finely threaded yarns are dyed for the best colourfast-ness. all our designs are available in standard sizes, and some designs in baby and junior sizes. in addition, we are able to custo-mize our products to any size required by you.
