May BiographySusan Quirk

Susan Quirk was born in Bristol Connecticut but grew up in the forested village of Whigville (where the Whigs hid out from the Torys during the civil unrest with Mother England).

In high school she was a Majorette, 4-H club member, on the synchronized swim team, very active in drama club and ice skated in winter on the family pond.

Then, off to Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing where along with learning nursing skills, she was also a student of etiquette, attending monthly teas in white gloves. Her nursing career began in Pediatrics at Yale New Haven Medical Center then on to newborn nursery, home health, children’s health and Physi-cians’ Assistant.

She married her childhood sweetheart in 1968 and she and Tod became parents of two boys, TJ and Chris . They moved to Vermont (granola territory) where she became a stay-at-home mom for 6 years doing all the “mom” things. She was a den moth-er, Sunday school director, choir member, sang with the renowned Randolph Singers, and performed in 5 musical productions including Hodel in “Fiddler on the Roof”. She started a successful pastry business which is still going strong under new ownership. She started a home jewelry business featuring her shell jewelry . Ben, their third son was born during this busy time .

They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1983 and Susan be-gan working part time in Pediatrics, and was involved in theatre with “Hello Dolly” . She did some directing and producing for one hour shows called “Dresses thru the Ages” and “Psalm Song”.

They moved to Littleton and for four years she worked in Home Health Nursing, Premiere Jewelry sales and raised 3 boys . The family moved to Salt Lake City Utah for 10 years, Then returned to Colorado in 1993.Susan joined PNC and worked part-time at Pine Lane Elementary, teaching 3rd grade reading. This is a very busy lady who loves gardening, enter-taining, and all the good things in life. Susan has been a valuable member of PNC and enjoys the camarade-rie and fellowship. “We’re living happily ever after in this wonderful place, surrounded by our three boys, their wives, four grandchildren, two cats, and interest-ing friends. Life is great!” sez Mrs. Quirk. So is she.

Susan Quirk had eye surgery and is doing quite well.
