SERVICE AND ACTION:

• Aimed at getting all MYP students involved in

service-oriented activities. (Service Learning)

• Is a reportable element for every MYP student at

GWA.

• Each MYP student must meet a minimum of four of

the eight SA outcomes over the course of the

academic year.

Assessment in the MYP is…

• Criterion-related • Different criteria for each subject • Part of the learning experience

• Formative

• Summative

• judgment made by teacher against criterion of achievement reached by student at the end of a specific stage.

• A reflection of the student’s abilities and achievement

level at the “end of the course”.

Produces good-quality work. Communicates basic understanding of most concepts

and contexts with few misunderstandings and minor gaps. Often demonstrates basic

critical and creative thinking. Uses knowledge and skills with some flexibility in

familiar classroom situations, but requires support in unfamiliar situations.

Managebac (MB)

Managebac is one of our communication tools. It allows teachers to: • communicate task dates, results, and send

messages to both students and parents. It allows students to: • keep track of assessments and deadlines on the

assessment calendar • upload tasks for assessment • track assessment grades for each subject • build an ongoing student portfolio

Tasks can be

uploaded:

Grades are tracked:

iSAMS

iSAMS is our student information system.

It allows us to:

• send important emails and communication to

parents directly through email.

• send report cards by email to the parents account.

• keep track of important events and activities

happening throughout the school.

• send updates on behavior points, award points and

attendance.
