Existing Capacities
GEO Discovery and Access Broker
• Discover resources: Brokers several catalogue services with differing vocabulary and offers results through a catalogue service– CSW, OpenSearch -Geo, OAI-PMH, …
• Access resources: Brokers access services to provide data according to a common grid environment for facilitating its use– WMS, WFS, WCS, DAP, …
Overview
• Topics:A. Test new client/server interoperability with GEO
DAB• Provide client/application components, tools, and
services• Provide new capacities and datasets to be brokered
B. Support the GEO Discovery & Access Broker• New functionality and capabilities

New functionalities and capabilities: Queryables Extension
• Support of a new queryeable element in the Discovery Broker: Access Protocol Queryable– It allows client applications to retrieve only datasets
which are accessible through a particular access service type
Tested with NOAA and presently used by OneGeology operational portal.
New functionalities and capabilities: Helper Applications
• Helper Application Support– A Helper Application is a client application which is
able to handle a dataset provided through:• One or more web service protocols• One or more encoding formats
– The GEO DAB enriches providers’ original metadata records with the needed information to access the data with one or more Helper Applications.
