www.gracechristian.com  & Annual MAC Retreat: No Time for a Retreat? This is the theme of our annual Marrie d Adventure Couple (MAC) retre at. It will take place from Fri day night Sept 16 th 4:00PM until 4:00PM Saturday, Sept 17 th . This is a 24 hour get away (in case you aren’t good at mathJ) with your spouse at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and the planning team is busy getting things ready! We have 20 rooms on hold at the Sheraton and time is of the essence with holding a spot by putti ng down a $50 depo sit. The cost of the entire weekend is $150 and includes a nice king size room, breakfast and lunch on Saturday. The only thing not included is your dinner on Fri day night which will be at your own e xpense near the hote l/surrounding area. You can check in at the hotel at 4:00PM and we will gather as a group at 5:00PM at the hotel and get our weekend itinerar y, then each couple will be encouraged to go for a “date” dinne r at their own expense and return to the hotel for evening teaching and fun activities. The host couple for this MAC event is Dean and Luby Bartles and they are a fun loving couple who are working hard with the Dalrymples and Evanses to plan a great getaway for y ou. We know the struggle we all face in finding time for ourselves in our crazy busy schedules but this is literally 24 hours of couple time and don’t we all need that?  The Topic of our retreat will be from the book “Little Changes, Big Resu lts, For Crazy Busy Couples” by Roger and Becky Tirabassi, and it is a very practical theme for our marriages. We have a sign up sheet at the MAC kiosk table in the sanctuary so please consider joining us for our one and only annual retreat. We also have an alternative package if you truly cannot spend the night but want to join us for all the activities Friday night and Saturday: $60 covers everything except the hotel room. We therefore have 2 packages:   Sand Castle $150 (overnight at hotel)  Sand Dune $60 (sleep at your own house) Checks should be made to “GCF” to hold your reservation. We are asking for deposits by August 14 th with the balance due September 4 th . You may have an excuse as to why you can’t join us, but it better not be that “you are too busy”!!!!!!  Contact Becky Evans for more details. History of the Church: A new church history class is offered every Tuesday morning from 9:30am until 10:30am in the Cafe Grace. Does history bore you to tears? Well, your tears will now turn to cheers, as Pastor Randy takes us through a detailed and exciting study of the History of the Christian Church. Most Christians think that Church History entails the Gospel story as it is in the Bible AND the day they came to faith. But in between those events are two thousand years of amazing stories that paved the way to what we have as the Christian faith today. Come join us - bring your friends - and even friends from other churches! This is college course material, but taught in an easy to understand, fun, yet challenging manner. ...................................................................................... VBS in Ridgecrest Community  Aug. 1 s t - 4 t h  Like last year, we’ll be doing the VBS at Christ’s Church of Universal Love, in the Ridgecrest community which is just south of the church, from Monday to Thursday (August 1st - 4th) from 9:00am to noon. The children will be divided up into three groups (5 & 6 year olds, 7 & 8 year olds, and 9-11 year olds) and they’ll travel between 3 activity areas – Bible study, craft, and game. We need voluntee rs to help! Most of the children pa rticipating in this VBS are coming from low income families. This will be a great opportunity to love & serve others within our own community…and we’ll have a great time while we do it! Please e-mail Pastor Heath for more details or if you are willing to serve with us. ...................................................................................... Grace Skates: This is a summer tradition for GCF. Our last Grace Skates for the summer will be on August 15 th from 7pm to 9pm. Dont miss out on this great time for the entire church family! We get the whole skating rink for ourselves, so bring your friends, neighbors and family to this wonderful and fun night out. The cost is only $5 to skate or play in the kid's indoor playground, and it doesn't cost anything to just come and hang out with each other (and many people do). We skate at Super Skate on Ulmerton Road - on the north side between Starkey Road and the Largo Mall. Hope to see you there! And invite some friends!!!
