WEEKEND TRIPSVENICE AND VERONA, ITALY MARCH 6-8In just one short weekend, you will see both Venice and Verona! On Friday afternoon, we drive to Vicenza where we spend the night in a hotel. Early Saturday morning, we make the short train trip to Venice where we will see great art and architecture, (Paul’s guided tours of the Academia and the
Scuola di San Rocco are renowned), pigeons in St. Mark’s Square, gondolas and more. We again spend the second night in Vicenza before our trip to Verona on Sunday. In Verona, we have the opportunity to tour the famous setting to Romeo and Juliet with its Roman Arena before dining at a wonderful restaurant and driving back to Garmisch. PRAGUE WITH PILSEN BREWERYMARCH 13-15“The Golden City” just gets better and better. Spared extensive bombing damage in WWII, Prague still has an authentic feel to its wonderful architecture. The capital of Bohemia has the famous Charles Bridge, and Old Town Square, the beautiful St. Vitus Cathedral in the Old Castle and a wonderful tradition of music-making by “Bohemians” of all stripes. Your guide gives an excellent tour of the Franz Kafka Museum and there is a reputation for the quality of Czech beer as well! Price: $330 per adult, $135 per child ages 5-15. Includes transportation, accommodations and breakfast; single room supplement is $45 per night. Passport required.
NUREMBERG GETAWAYMARCH 20-22Since the Middle Ages, Nuremberg has been regarded as one of the few cities closely tied to a “European Identity.” We would be remiss if we did not mention that the German National Museum is one of the best and that the city has a strong association with transportation and has a great museumdevoted to trains. Price: $250 per adult, $125 per child ages 5-15. Includes transportation, accommodations and breakfast; single room supplement is $45 per night.
