Gamification
A little about me!

So…What is Gamification? • By definition, Gamification is the use of game logic and mechanics in
non-game context to engage and motivate learners to solve problems.
• Gamification has proven to be particularly effective in the corporate world of training, engagement, change and feedback.
Meet the marriage of productivity and technology!
Isn’t Gamification just a buzz word??
• Gamification works because it triggers real, powerful human emotions. • Gamification is 75% psychology and 25% technology *Gabe Zichermann, co-author of Gamification by Design

There are four main primal urges that drive all behavior online:
Gamification Mechanics Gamification has 6 common mechanics: • Challenges • Points • Levels • Badges • Leaderboards • Competition
Audience of Gamification At a time when we have 4 generations occupying the workplace it is often hard to understand how to implement a new technique, tool, process, workspace that accommodates the desire of all 4. Gamification is the secret sauce you have been looking for when trying to move all 4 generations in unison!
Because Gamification targets key human traits and desires, the audience for gamification is for virtually anyone, regardless of genereation!
Technology is changing the way we work • The arrival of smartphones, social networking sites, chat apps has brought
communication to a new level. • Technology has made it possible to customize any software according to the
variable business needs. Software is no longer one size fits all. • New technology has enabled remote working, teleconferencing and co-
working space which has completely reshaped the workplace. • The impact of technology in the workplace is incredible. It has changed the
way traditional workplaces used to work. It’s up to the business leaders to keep up with its evolving pace in the most efficient manner.
Gamification is changing how we feel about it! Combining work and play might sound counterintuitive, but companies that do so are already noticing real results. Gamification in the business world can cover everything from a simple leader board written in marker pen on a flip chart, to a custom-designed gamification platform. Gamification can help with numerous objectives. From increasing attendance, to encouraging networking, to change management, to helping people focus and retain what they’ve learned – but it is key to pin down your objectives from the outset. Thanks to technology implementing Gamification has never been easier; you can almost guarantee that every employee at any given time will now have a smart phone in their pocket.
Gamification = DATA At it’s core, gamification is all about statistics!
By capturing statistics, communicating standings, and rewarding accomplishments, we create a method to driving a continuous source of data. If you take a call centre employees who is sitting and taking calls all day, this gets mundane and boring. If you take that same job function and start collecting total number of calls, total minutes on the phone, total resolved issues – the duties get a lot more interesting! Thus, creating another level of gamification through statistics.
A call is no longer just a call, it’s a challenge!
