Let's see what some ofour friends have been do-ing this past week:Rae McEntyre spent

last weekend at Lake Bar-kley State Resort Park andparticipated in the EagleWatch Weekend. Shewent on the yacht tour onKenlake and saw 25 baldeagles, including two thatcaught fish. Her boat trav-eled past the Eggner FerryBridge that was destroyedby a cargo ship last week-end. The park systemsponsors this wildlife-watching opportunity asbald eagles gather aroundthe major lakes of west-ern Kentucky looking forfood. For four decadesthe Kentucky State Parkshave offered Eagle WatchWeekends. The tours takeplace at three resort parksduring weekends in Janu-ary and February on anexcursion yacht as wellas by van. They are led bystate park naturalists andthe Department of Fishand Wildlife biologists.Rae said she thoroughlyenjoyed it and would liketo go again.Faye Biddle and Ruth-

-Gallatin County Public Library is proud to present Mamma & Son - ACivil War Story on Friday, February 24th. Two of Kentucky's top storytellers,members of the KY Storytelling Association and the National StorytellingNetwork, will perform a tandem event. This program has been acclaimedas one of the freshest and entertaining works on the Civil War. It not onlyincludes the memories of a Confederate veteran, but also the story of hismother who has sent two sons to the war, one fighting for the North and onefighting for the South.
