Fundraising/School Supplies Drive
Tool Kit & Resource Guide Benefiting
MAKING IT HAPPEN!
1. Types of Drives Determine what type of donation drive your group will be hosting. Will you collect financial donations or
school supplies?
2. Dates When do you want to host your drive? Determine a time frame. We recommend no less than one
week and no longer than one month. Don’t forget to contact Amanda McQuillan at 412.922.6500 or
[email protected] to schedule your kick-off assembly and to order your
Panera treats and coupons!
3. Participants Decide who should participate in your drive: classmates, teachers, family members, etc.
4. Promotion Advertising your drive is key to achieving success. Plan to get the word out about your drive early
enough so people have time to respond. Remind people! Posters, school announcements, flyers,
newsletters, Facebook and other social media are all great ways to spread the word. We have
provided templates for all of these promotional ideas!
5. Collection & Storage Where will you collect the donations? A table in the school lobby or cafeteria to collect donations is a
great idea. Put boxes or coin collection bins in each classroom to remind students about the drive.
Where will you get collection containers from? These are all things to consider when planning.
6. Make It Interesting Offer an incentive to the classroom or grade that collects the most or fills their bins the fastest – extra
recess or gym time, a movie day, pizza party, etc. Set a fundraising goal for the school and have a
reward if you meet or exceed it – one principal dyed his hair purple when his school met their goal!
7. Delivery When possible, we invite your team to drop off your donations at our facility and enjoy a tour to see
first-hand how your donations will be used. For questions on pick up or delivery, please contact
Amanda McQuillan at 412.922.6500 or [email protected].
