Ovingham WHEN? 16 th March 2015 PROJECT A1 Coal House to Metro Centre Improvement Scheme DIVISION Major Project (Regional) The team was proud to raise funding that contributed to one of our local schools surrounding the project.” THE CHALLENGE The A1 Coal House to Metro Centre Improvement site team accepted a challenge to complete an endurance assault course on behalf of Swalwell Primary school based in Gateshead Tyne & Wear. Swalwell Primary School is a fantastic school within the community that facilitates children with special needs from mental to physical needs. After delivering a Health & Safety talk highlighting the dangers of our works, we identified the teachers who work in the school had other challenges other than the everyday duties of a teachers. Aa a team we felt we could contribute to equipment and transport needed by a fundraising event. THE ASSAULT COURSE After a two mile run 18 participants had to scale and crawls through muddy freezing conditions. A great day was had by all, where we were all physically pushed to our limits.
