Shell be appearing Thursday, May 5, at

Cazadores in Franklin for the restaurants CincoD Mayo celebration.

Carlie loves all genres of music, but finds coun-try the perfect fit for her voice.

Miranda Lambert is one of her favorite femalevocalists.

This cute little gal has got an awesome voiceand personality that gives 110 percent in all thatshe does.

She is featured on the May/June edition of 45066singing 73 a song she wrote about SR 73 here inSpringboro.

Carlie, a senior at Springboro High School, willbe moving to Nashville next month to spend thesummer performing at different venues.

She talked about American Idol and how it tookCarrie Underwood five years and five auditions toget on the show. And everyone knows what hap-pened after that when Underwood became the

hottest female recording artist in the country.Perseverance is a must to go anywhere in themusic industry today. No one shows up on stagethe first day and becomes a super star. I reallybelieve this little gal can do it, shes got the per-sona, voice and energy to make it work.

Its a fish fry with all the goodies, soft drinksand other refreshments. All proceeds will beused to assist Carlies expenses to complete herfirst CD in Nashville.

Not only will Carlie perform, but youll meet

her Nashville promoter and take part in her send-off to becoming a country superstar in the years tocome. Dont forget to bring your camera so youcan get a photograph of you and Carlie that youcan show everyone five or six years from nowwhen she wins country artist of the year. Itsgonna happen.

Dancing, and karaoke added to the fun for theevening that raised more than $1,000 in cash andlotsa canned goods.

Springboro Mayor John Agenbroad made a per-sonal cash donation of a substantial amount tohelp Wendy and the center which he has doneevery year since its inception.

A special thank you to Roosters, Bobby Jo, thegeneral manager and her staff for hosting the eventand their kindness to support those less fortunate.

Carlie will sing her song about S.R. 73 inSpringboro. along with a few others shes written.Come be a part of history in the making as Carliedeparts for Nashville in June to perform for thesummer. This little country gal (Class of 2011 atSpringboro High School) is going places. Dontmiss this event.

Last Thursday morning the Springboro OptimistClub held its second of its twice monthly break-fast meetings that are open to the public atHeathers Coffee and Caf in the barn.

Guest speakers were counselor/pastor TerryCarlisle; Director of the Springboro Chamber ofCommerce, Carol Hughes and Mrs. Ohio 2009,Stephanie Gooden.

The presentation topic was Domestic Violenceand Sexual Predators. You couldve heard a pindrop, as we all sat on the edge of our seats notwanting to believe what we were hearing fromStephanie. Growing up in Texas, she attended achurch sponsored elementary school where thehead master abused little girls from 4 to 11 yearsof age by gaining the confidence of their parentsand controlling the little girls. They were told ifthey said anything to their parents, their parentswould lose their jobs and they the children

would have to be placed in other homes.Terry and Carol spoke to the charge that sexualpredators look for positions in churches andschools and thats where theyre most dominantand where we have to be most cautious.Stephanies message was very frightening in thisday and age because the authorities were nevercalled. The church just moved the head master toanother school in another state where he contin-ued his actions abusing more than a hundredchildren before authorities were notified. Whencaught he took his life immediately.

Be careful, really careful with your young chil-dren and grandchildren. It was a great presenta-tion by all three and our hearts went out toStephanie for what she had to endure duringthose difficult early years of life.
