BREAKING
NEWS !!!
Last report I said WOW - and this report is
even a bigger WOW.
The Frankston City Council (FCC) at their last
Council meeting announced that of the twelve
major projects on the table the final four which
are their priority to develop, includes the
combined Centenary Park Regional Tennis and
Gymnastics Centre, with an estimated project
cost of $27.6M. FCC have pledged $8.05M on
top of the $3M we already have from Peninsula
Health and we are negotiating with the Federal
& State Governments for a further $8.05M each.
I have reported to you earlier that we already
have architects plans and drawings and now
have full economic impact statements along
with community benefit reports to present to
Federal and State Members.
We have gone on a road trip to inspect other
major regional tennis centres to ensure ours will
be the absolute best in Victoria if not Australia.
Over the next few weeks there will be press
releases outlining the development to the
general public and we will be able to present to
you the updated drawings and plans, which I
know will impress you greatly.
We are extremely happy to be associated with
gymnastics as they are a professional and
hardworking group of people and they are a
fantastic fit for tennis with large numbers of
participants and visitors.
To follow up on my last report, don’t listen to all
those spreading rumours, the site at Centenary
Park will be bulldozed and an incredible complex
will be built.
Stick with the FRANKSTON TENNIS CLUB and
you’ll be part of a most exciting development.
TELL EVERYONE and let them be envious, they
might even join you for this fantastic journey.

TENNIS VIC 2018 PENNANT: WOMENS GRADE 4
The 2018 Pennant season for our Grade 4 Girls
going along very well. They are currently

losing 3. Our girls have won 17 rubbers and lost
10 and are well clear of the 3rd placed team.
And Kooyong LTC & Royal South Yarra are sitting
7th and 6th respectively on the ladder with only 1
match day win to their credit. It promises to be
an interesting season.

HAVE YOU BEEN CAUGHT WITHOUT YOUR ZONED
PARKING PERMIT ON DISPLAY ????
Just a quick reminder to all those Members who have
a ZONED PARKING PERMIT. Recently, many Club
members have been issued with a $155.00 Fine from
Frankston City Council – for not DISPLAYING their
parking permit on their dashboard. The Parking Permits are issued to Members (at no
cost) who need to park their vehicle at the FTC Car
Park between the hours of 6 am to 3 pm Weekdays.
If you are parking at the Club between the above
hours, please ensure you have your Permit clearly
displayed at all times. The Frankston City Council
seem to be more vigilant with the Patrol Officers now
policing our car park regularly – sometimes twice a
day. If you have lost your Parking Permit ; or have
any queries regarding the Permit, please
immediately contact our Club Operations Manager,
Anne Baldwin on 0411 155 707.
