Schools Tree Day

On Friday RRHC participated in the Schools Tree Day. Students planted trees at the Ag farm opposite McKenzie Oval as well as participating in other tree planting themed activities. This year the connection with nature has been more significant with the impact of lockdowns on our mental health. We would gratefully acknowledge the support from Lismore City Council who donated the trees for planting and Lismore Toyota in providing tree guards, hats, gloves, and other promotional materials.

Huge thank you to Gary our Farm Assistant, Sarah Smith, Trenton Baillie, and Hannah Mulcahy at Lismore Toyota, Jo and Mark at the Firewheel Rainforest Nursery, and Leonie and Victoria at Lismore City Council.

Japanese Year 7 Classes Year 7 Japanese classes have been learning about 'The Star Festival', held on the evening of 7 July every year in Japan, since the 6th century. Year 7 students decorated stalks of bamboo with their wishes in Japanese, and various symbolic decorations representing the Milky Way, abundance, and prosperity.

Please ask your Year 7 students what they are currently learning about the Tokyo Olympics. Talking about their learning in Japanese classes gives them a global perspective.

Parents who are dropping off or picking up their children before or after school are reminded to do this in the areas outside of the bus, taxi, disability parking, and no stopping zones at the front of the school. Suggested safe areas are the grassy area outside the Ag Shed in Lake Street or near the shelter in McKenzie Park in Pitt Street, where there is a footpath to the school. The other alternative is at the back gate of the school on Alexandra Parade. The safety of our students is paramount.

Reminder - Drop off and pick up at back of school
