Dear parents, Compulsory Annual Registration The annual school registration process will commence shortly. On Wednesday (26 October) you will receive an email from the school explaining the registration process and giving you a website link that will take you to the relevant registration documents. Please note that it is compulsory for every existing Reddam House student to be registered for 2017. The completed and signed documents then have to be returned to your child’s tutor teacher before Friday 11 November. Please prioritize this important administrative requirement.
Caitlin Tanner has been selected to represent South Africa at the Royal Academy of Dance Adeline Genee 2016 Competition taking place in Sydney, Australia in early December this year. Caitlin is one of only seven South African dancers to have been selected to represent her country at this prestigious event. This is an enormous achievement and an incredible opportunity for Caitlin to yet again share the international stage with dancers from all over the world. Congratulations, Caitlin – and best wishes for all the training and rehearsing in preparation for this event!
Caitlyn Tretheway, Grade 9, has qualified to represent South Africa at the FISAF International World Fitness and Hip Hop Unite Championships in Vienna from 18 to 22 October after winning the National SASAFF competition in June. She is competing with her crew called the Ringleaders from Diversify Dance Studio. We wish Caitlyn all the best at this exciting competition.

The Parents and Friends committee is a group of parents who serve to support the Heads of the School by assisting with various functions and in different portfolios. We have one representative per grade. These parents assist with functions such as the Reddam House Golf
Day, the Harvest festival and the Woman’s Day dinner. They also serve beverages at art exhibitions, music evenings and grandparents’ days to name but a few. This wonderful group of people is also involved in making boerewors and egg and bacon rolls at the different sporting tournaments. These Stage/Grade representatives disseminate information to the necessary groups via face book pages and WhatsApp groups. If anyone is interested in being a Stage/Grade representative on the Parents and Friends Committee please email [email protected]. Alternatively if you would like to be included in serving at functions, but not be a Stage/Grade rep, please indicate this too.
The Western Cape Show Jumping Championships for Junior Riders was hosted at the Stellenbosch District Riding Club last weekend. Tamara Rueda was crowned the Western Province Junior Show Jumping champion at this event after being placed 1st on “Baly” and 2nd on “Quantas” in the top junior class of 1.35m. Tamara is congratulated on this exceptional achievement in her last show as a junior rider.
Daniel Moore and “Mega Jet” placed 2nd in the 90cm Championship class at this prestigious event.
During the holidays, Daniel Moore (and his horse, “Mega Jet”) also competed in the multi-discipline show hosted in George that offered show jumping, dressage, equitation and showing. Daniel achieved the following results:
Won his Competition in 2 Phases (Showjumping)
Won the 90cm Championship class (Showjumping)
Placed 2nd in the Novice 4 test (dressage)
Placed 3rd in his eventing class
Well done, Daniel!
Megan Norcott competed at the Noordhoek Riding Club Show Jumping competition on Saturday 8 October. Megan competed in two classes for 70 cm: She achieved a clear round on one of her classes and in the 70cm accumulator class she achieved a 1st place.
Well done Megan for all your hard work and determination.

Nina Marais participated in a really tough 15km trail run last weekend, the Goat Run. Despite being the youngest competitor, Nina achieved a very commendable 21st place out of the 114 female competitors. Well done, Nina!
The End-of-Year Music concert took place on Wednesday evening and we were entertained by wonderful singers, ensembles and a wide variety of instrumentalists. It was lovely to hear such a diversity of musical styles and to see such confident performances.
Appreciation is also extended to our dedicated Music teachers who nurture and direct this talent with such care and expertise.
