KAUSACHUM PACHAMAMAPachamama Peruvian Arts (PPA) is thrilled to invite the general public to “Kausachum Pachamama”, PPA’s last performance of the fall semester. “Kausachum”, which means “long live” in Quechua, expresses the joy and pride with which we, on this occasion too, celebrate the 10 year anniversary of PPA. During the performance, students will showcase all they have learned since October 4, 2013: Andean music, chorus (traditional songs), cajon (Afro-Peruvian percussion instrument) and the dances: marinera norteña (from the northern Peruvian coast), negrillos (from the southern Peruvian highlands), and marinera limeña con resbalosa (from Lima, the capital of Peru). A gift basket of Peruvian products will be raffled off at the end of the show. Before the show, the public will be able to enjoy delicious Peruvian food, desserts, and drinks which will be for sale in the gymnasium from 6:30-7:30pm. At 7:30pm, the show will begin in the auditorium. After the show, the graduation will take place and diplomas will be awarded. Immediately after, students may register for the spring semester, which will begin on March 7. For more information, please call (212) 683-2381.
