LISA BERKI (Wilson) last appeared for Civic as Colleen in last season's Lady Lambert and as Mercy Lewis in The Crucible. She is currently a senior at Pioneer High where she has appeared in the Pioneer High Theatre Guild productions of The Prime of Miss jean Brodie as Jenny and Flowers For Algernon as Gina.
MARGIE COHEN Ooyce) recently appeared as Mrs. Soarnes in Civic's production of Our Town and has performed the roles of Miss Swanson in The Night Ofjanuary 16th and Rosa in You Can't Take It With You as well as that of Mrs. Paddy in Curious Savage. Margie has served as Properties Mistress for A Little Night Music, Waltz OfT he Toreadors and Carousel. Currently, she is serving on the Board of Directors for AACT and is in charge of season publicity.
BRIAN COLGAN (Archibald Carlyle) is making his second appearance in an AACT production having performed in the Main Street production of The Night Ofjanuary 16th. He is currently a sophomore at the U of M majoring in communications and served in the Navy from 1975 to 1980 as an Operations Specialist. Brian is an Ann Arbor native and attended Huron High. Currently, he works in the Sports Information Office at the U of M Athletic Department.
LOUISE FADER (The Singer) just finished her Master's degree in voice performance and is currently teaching public school in Brighton. Civic audiences will remember Louise as Bianca in last season's Kiss Me Kate and as Anne in A Little Night Music. Louise also sings with the Ann Arbor Cantata Singers.
RICHARD FLEMING (Richard Hare) was last seen by Civic audiences in the Summer Stage 80 productions of The Trysting Place and Still Life. He has appeared in the Canterbury Loft's production of Kennedy's Chtldren and in productions of Natural Gas and The Revenge Of The Space Pandas. Richard has also appeared as John in The Eccentncities of a Nightingale. He is also an active member of the Ann Arbor Recreation Department, doing children 's theatre.
ED LESHER (Policeman) has been involved with AACT for ten years, having appeared as Howie Newsome in Our Town, a body in Arsenic And Old Lace, Bailey in The Night Thoreau Spent In jatl, Pycroft in Spofford and the bicycle riding Doorman in The Madwoman Of Chat/lot. Ed's profession as an Aerospace Engineer at the U of M often pays off for Civic in his technical help backstage. He has worked countless set and stage crews and enjoys designing, building and flying airplanes.
LEO McNAMARA (Francis Levison) most recently appeared for Civic as Mr. Webb in Our Town and as Whitfield in the Main Street production of The Night Ofjanuary 16th. Leo has extensive experience with the U ofM and PTP theatre programs, having appeared in productions of Romeo And juliet, Othello, Ah Wilderness, Wedding Band apd Equus. He is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Michigan and teaches Irish history and Literature.
ALISON MAKER (Barbara Hale) was last seen as Abigail Williams in Civic 's The Crucible. She is an active member of the Pioneer Theatre Guild and has performed the roles of Mary MacGregor in The Prime of Mtss jean Brodie and Alice Kinnian in Flowers For Algernon as well as the roles of Sarah Brown in Guys And Dolls, Ilona in The Guardsman and Mary Skinner in Life With Father. Alison plays the piano, likes to read and is considering the pursuit of a career in theatre.
CASSIE MANN (Lady Isabel Carlyle) performed in several Ann Arbor Pioneer High productions, including A Midsummer Night's Dream, Mary Poppins in Mary Pop pins, Sylvia in Up The Down Staircase and Marianne in The Miser. She recently graduated from Central Michigan University with a BS in secondary education. While at CMU, Cassie performed the 1 roles of Jackie in Hay Fever, the Evil Faerie in Sleeping Beauty, Karen Richards in Applause and Joa,nne in Vanities. Cassie has appeared with the Ann Arbor Intermission Players and participated in two of Civic's summer productions.
AILEEN MENGEL (Cornelia Carlyle) received her BA in speech and drama from the U of M and is currently teaching at Lawson School where she enjoys working on their dramatic productions. She acted and directed 'for the Ridgedale Players in Pleasant Ridge and has enjoyed a variety of roles since joining Civic. AACT audiences last saw Aileen as Lily Belle in Curious Savage and she has appeared in productions of The Grass Harp, Candida, Blithe Spirit and Any Wednesday, the last for which her preformance netted her Best Supporting Actress. Aileen enjoys tennis, racquetball, walking and outwitting the raccoons who set up housekeeping in her chimney.
ROBERT N. TURNER (Lord Mountsevern) is a newcomer to Ann Arbor Civic Theatre but not to a stage. He appeared as Norman in Star Spangled Girl at the University of Utah, as Dick Deadeye in HMS Pinafore at the Greenbriar Theatre in Salt Lake City, as Schroeder in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown at the Snowbird Dinner Theatre and in productions of Spoon River Anthology and La Boheme in Idaho . Robert works as a respiratory therapist at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital and as a Clinical Instructor at Washtenaw Community College. He is also a volunteer CPR instructor for the American Red Cross.

CHRISTINE C. SCHWARTZ (Producer) is currently a member of the AACT Board of Directors where she serves as Executive Vice President and manages the theatre office. Her most recent production effortS were on props for Guys And Dolls, but she has worked numerous sound, lights and stage crews as well as producing and serving as assistant director for many shows over the past 10 years.
BURNETTE STAEBLER (Artistic Director) first appeared on the Lydia Mendelssohn stage in 1930 as Eve in a Cercle Francais production of a play about Adam and Eve and was most recently seen as Mrs. Higgins in AACT's My Fair Lady. During a recent stay in Washington D. C.. she toured with the Adventure Theatre in presenting her play Thor The Thunderer in 48 area schools. East Lynne is Burnette's tenth directing assignment with Ann Arbor Civic Theatre.
DEBORAH McNAMARA (Assistant Director) East Lynne marks Deborah's third production with AACT this year. She appeared as a member of the ensemble in Our Town and as the Prison Matron in The Night Of january 16th. An avid theatre goer, Deborah has been an AACT season ticket holder for the last 10 years. Deborah's main interest is warching the acting of her husband Leo.
RUNELDA MEDRANO (Stage Manager) most recently served as both Stage Manager and Assistant Director for Our Town. On stage , she has appeared in Mame and Oklahoma. Off stage, her contributions include serving as membership chair, recording secretary , Board member and Treasurer. Runelda works as a business manager and enjoys showing St. Bernard dogs and roller skating.
DON STEW ART (Set Design) This show marks Don's twenty-sixth design, having most recently designed sets for Civic 's Lady Lambert, Cun·ous Savage and Carol Duffy 's The Zoo Keeper. Don 's designs have earned him Civic's Best Set Award three times .
GWENN ANGLE PRO EGLER (Costume Design) is designing her second show for Civic this season , having earlier designed and executed costumes for The Apollo Of Be/lac. A 1960 graduate of Carnegie-Mellon in a theatre design major, Gwenn worked professionally as a designer.

JOHN BRECKENRIDGE (Lighting Design) is currently pursuing a degree in lighting design and stage management at the U of M. John did both scenic and lighting design for Civic's production of Sand Castles and was the assistant in scenic design for the U of M Guest Artist Series production of Romeo And juliet as well as Summer Repertory's Blithe Spirit . He served as master electrician for UAC/Musket's Anything Goes. Most recently, John designed lights for AACT's My Fair Lady.
ROBERTA RIZZARDI (Make Up Design) has worked on several Civic shows, most recently , My Fair Lady. She is serving as area make up chair for the current season. She also does make up for the U of M School of Music productions, the most recent of these being The Consul. Roberta received her BA degree from the U of M and has done graduate work there and ar Oakland University. She teaches art in the Dexter Community Schools.
BARBARA SMART DANIEL (Properties) has been hostess and audition co-ordinator for the 78-79 and 79-80 seasons and has chaired or helped with cast and crew parties for at least 3 years. She designed sets for Good News and an original play Sky High jones produced in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Her most recent onstage appearance was as a member of the ensemble in Our Town. Barbara is a commercial artist and currently works as a staff artist for The Ypsilanti Press.
