Kids Workshop - Whole Day Workshop with Danica Wichtermann

Ages 9-15+

‘Ant Man’ Build your own Miniature Worlds…imagine you have been shrunken down and

everything that once was so small is towering above you. That shoe you so easily put on your

foot is now gigantic and the shoe laces are massive slides and bridges. The milk carton towers

over you like a city skyscraper and those once tiny snails are huge creatures leaving great slime

trails behind them like roads.

Come and build your own once ‘normal’ object- A shoe, toaster or juice container, and then go

on a journey of building your surrounding miniature world. In the morning you will work with slabs

of rolled out clay to make your object and then after a short lunch break you will be able to as-

semble and add on lots of details as well as paint and decorate your work. If you wanted, we

could even cut out a little opening somewhere for a tea light candle holder, or have a closed in

section for a little succulent plant. This can then be displayed inside or outside.

Throughout the day, students will learn various sculpting techniques for building and decorating

their work. Their creations will also be painted with colourful slips, before we dry, glaze and fire

them for you. We will notify you when they are ready to be collected in about a month.
