8:30a French Mass honoring all Franco-American Veterans and the Franco-American Community,

Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Parish (Ste. Thérèse Church), 1340 Lakeview Ave., Dracut MA.

The public is invited. Free Pancake Breakfast in the church hall after the Mass with the

naming of the Franco-American of the Year 2013.

3:00p A talk given by Dr. Carole Salmon of the University of Massachusetts of Lowell.

Like Cajuns Like Franco-Americans? A comparison of two sociolinguistic fieldworks.

Franco-American School Auditorium, 357 Pawtucket St., Lowell. Admission is free.

Monday, June 24, 2013 — St. Jean-Baptiste Day

9:15a Memorial ceremony at the Little Canada Monument, corner of Aiken and Hall Streets,

Lowell, MA. There is no charge and the public is invited.

10:00a Flag raising ceremony at the Lowell City Hall, Merrimack Street. An open air reception

will follow. In case of inclement weather, the reception will be held in the mayor’s reception

hall. There is no charge and the public is invited.

7:00p Vespers (Evening Prayer) in honor of St. Jean-Baptiste at Franco-American School Grotto,

357 Pawtucket St., Lowell, MA, sponsored by the Franco-American Day Committee.

Please bring your lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, vespers will be held in the school

chapel. After the prayer service, a wine and cheese social sponsored by Roland and Daniel

Martin of the Roland W. Martin Funeral Home will be held in the school cafeteria.

Admission is free and the public is invited.
