10. Student feedback mechanism on Institutional Governance/Faculty performance

Student Feedback is taken in a well designed format at end of every semester. The received feedback is given to the concerned faculty for analysis. Concerned faculty member is required to submit the analysis and corrective actions to be taken in future. The faculty performance proposed corrective actions are evaluated by Head of the Department and Principal. From the academic year 2009-10 odd semester, feed-back is being collected on-line. Approximately 90% students had given feedback in October 2010 for last semester.

11. Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students

Faculty members and staff members at any level are free to meet and present their grievances to any higher authority - HOD, Principal, Chairman. Also, a grievance committee with senior faculty members on board is constituted to inquire into any grievance lodged by staff/student and report is submitted to the Principal. The Women Development Cell takes care of problems, if any, of women staff and students Redressal measures are taken by the Local Council which meet regularly and also, as and when the need arises. 16. Boys Hostel Four flats purchased at Kalina, Santacruz (E) for students

of outside Mumbai/Maharashtra (J&K, Andaman etc.). Out of four flats, one is as Principal’s Quarter and all other three flats are for students. In each flat 6 students can stay. At present all three flats are occupied and 18 students are staying

18. Counseling / Mentoring Professional Counselor has been appointed on part time basis and visiting twice a week.

Career Counseling Career Counseling by senior faculty and Training & Placement Officer is supplemented by professional counseling sessions conducted by reputed institutes in the respective areas for MS, MBA, MTech etc. Students are also appraised of the facilities and rankings of universities in India and abroad.

Medical facilities Medical Clinic exists in the Campus. A Part time Medical Practitioner has been appointed and visiting twice a week. First Aid Kits are available at 3 places in the college premesis.

Student Insurance All the students are covered under Group Insurance Scheme – ‘Yuva Raksha’.

19. Students Activity Body Students Activity body for the academic year 2010-11 was formed in March 2010. Applications are invited from students for the various student council posts and the same is scrutinised by the Principal, Faculty committee in charge of Student Activity and the sitting Student Council members. The applicants are then called for an interview and the council elected. The Student Council posts are: President, General Secretary, Sports Secretary, Cultural Secretary, PR –In-charge and Ladies Representatives.

Cultural activities The Cultural festival ‘Euphoria’ is spread over three days and includes a number of inter-college and intra-college events and competitions. The Orchestra night and the college band play are also part of this festival. The college ‘Annual Day’ function is held on the last day of Euphoria. Other activities include Traditional Day, Rose day, Environment week to promote the need for ‘going green’, Blood Donation Camp, NEN week to promote entrepreneurial skills etc.

Sports activities The main inter-collegiate tournaments conducted by the institute are Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Memorial Basketball tournament, Football tournament and Inter-collegiate sports week which include Rink football, Carom, Volleyball and Throw ball. In addition, a number of intra-college tournaments are conducted every year- Badminton, Cricket, Football, Chess, Carom, Table tennis. Athletics for students and staff are conducted on the ‘Sports Day’.

Literary activities The ‘Thinkers Club’ provides a platform for the eloquent

speakers, avid readers and knowledgeable thinkers. The inter-collegiate Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Memorial Debate is the most popular debating competition in Mumbai, with themes of current national relevance. The institute debating society Debsoc. aims to educate students to the different formats of debating. MAD (Motion Picture Arts and Drama) society screens socially relevant educating films. Other events conducted regularly in this category include JAM, Turncoat, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Agnel Security Council (ASC) modeled on UN etc.

Magazine / Newsletter The college magazine ‘FRAGMAG’ with contributions in English, Hindi. and Marathi, both technical and non-technical, from staff and students is released every year during the Annual Day function. In addition, Newsletters (one per semester) are brought out by Thinkers Club and technical societies.

Technical activities / Tech-Fest The annual two day technical festival ‘CRESCENDO’ is held in September. It includes expert seminars and events like Robo Trek, Techno quiz, Reverse engineering, Best Project Idea, The Web of Riddles, Cyber Wars, Geek Quotient, Junkyard Wars, Ultimate Assemblage etc. In addition, the Professional society institute chapters like IEEE, CSI and ISME organize workshops, seminars and contests in their respective fields. The departmental technical societies also conduct guidance sessions, quizzes and talks to enhance the technical expertise of students.

Industrial Visits / Tours Industrial tours are organized for students during their third year by the IEEE, ISME and CSI chapters. Students visit industries in their respective disciplines and get good exposure to the latest technology and industrial processes. Also, local industrial visits and visits to technical exhibitions are arranged periodically.

Alumni activities The Alumni association is active and many of the alumni members contribute their expertise to panel discussions, guest lectures, project mentoring and placement. The annual Alumni meet is held every year on the 1st Saturday of January.

Not Applicable as per the provisions of Clause (h) of Section 2 of the said Act “Public Authority” is defined to mean any authority or body or institution of self-government established or constituted, as per clauses (a) to (e) thereof. In that regard, clause (d) refers to a financial control by the State Government over such a body; that is substantially financed; directly or indirectly by funds provided by the State Government. Our college is neither substantially financed nor partially financed by the State Government. It is a self-financed institution and therefore not amenable to the provisions of the aforestated Act. Consequently, it follows there from that the provisions of the said Act do not apply to our College.
