Our fifth Lenten Friday Fish Fry is
March 20. It’s a great meal at a reasonable price
sponsored by our PTU. Dinners are served—and are
available for take-out—from 4:00 till 7:00pm in the
Corrigan Gym.
We will continue to offer the Sacrament of
Reconciliation after our Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning
Masses both this weekend and next weekend. Due to the lengthy
reading of the Passion, we will not hear confessions on Palm
Sunday. Our final bout of Lenten Confessions will be Spy
Wednesday of Holy Week, April 1 at 11:00am—12:00Noon,
3:00—4:00pm, and 7:30—8:30pm
Our “SOX in the boX’ collection
will conclude on Palm Sunday weekend. If you haven’t done so
already, please leave your gift of new sox in the boxes found in
the church and hall lobbies. Even though the temperatures are
finally a little bit warmer, the homeless poor will still thank you
for a pair of clean, dry, warm sox.
Did you order a corned beef sandwich from Boy Scout
Troop #221 last week? Pick up your meal after Mass this Sunday
morning.
St Charles parishioners currently in the eighth grade
are preparing for Confirmation--scheduled for Sunday April 19
with Bishop Roger Gries. Next Saturday, March 21, is Spirit
Day. Our Confirmation candidates will experience this Retreat
Day to help them prepare for this Sacrament of Christian
Maturity and Commitment. Keep our eighth graders in prayer
that day. Thank you to all on the Retreat Team who will make
next Saturday such a special time.
Remember to check the video screen monitors (thank
you Carnival 2014!) in the church lobbies when you come to
Mass. There you will find a listing of the newly baptized as well
as the names of those who have gone home to God. There is also
word about major parish plans and offerings, plus lots of other
news.
Parma’s Catholic Pastors meet monthly for an
exchange of ideas. One proposal that we have been discussing is
organizing a Thanksgiving Day Meal for those who would be
alone that day as well as for those who cannot afford to provide a
holiday meal for themselves. The plan would be to offer the meal
at one Parma Catholic parish but to have volunteers from all of
the Parma Catholic parishes assist. The meal would be served
from Noon till 2:00pm. Those who offered the meal could then
get home to their families.
Would you be interested in helping with a Thanksgiving
Day Meal? If so, call our Parish Office (440-884-3030) and
leave your name and phone number. We will consider the
response and move forward from there.
Wow! Thank you for the many nice notes, phone calls,
e-mails, texts, and mentions about this year’s Lenten Parish
Retreat. It was all positive feedback. Those who attended really
enjoyed—and benefitted—from Father Mike Woost’s reflections
on the Sacred Three Days of Holy Week. Lots of credit goes to
Father Terry Grachanin (Father Woost is Father Terry’s big
“hero.”) and to music minister Tom Holzheimer—both handled
the details.
Happy St Patrick’s Day!
Merici Chapel… Do you love Jesus? When is the
last time you had an uninterrupted conversation
with Him? Jesus has a loving heart and He’s a
good listener. Make a visit to Merici Chapel. Tell
Him how your Lent is going and life in general.
Show Jesus how much you love Him by making time for Him in
your life.

NORTHEAST OHIO
MEN’S FELLOWSHIP CONFERENCE
March 21st, 2015 As men, life can be stressful and exhausting, numerous eyes look
to us to be ―strong‖ and ―wise‖ and the pressure of them and the
responsibilities of life can often feel like too much. Therefore, I’d
like to invite you and challenge you to give Christ and the
Church one full day of your life. Saturday, March 21st, 2015
is the Northeast Ohio Men’s Fellowship Conference. This confer-
ence is meant to provide the context where Christ can bring the
true Father’s love and life into your heart and provide that divine
energy to love those whom you are close to. Please do not shirk
the responsibility to be a man that builds a culture of life and love
instead of one of ego and isolation. For more information visit
the website www.cmfneo.com. ~ Fr. Ryan Mann
