From September 30th to 3rd October 2021, Kunsthaus Kannen will host the 2x2 Forum for Outsider Art for the 6th time. As in previous oc-casions, the biennial forum will provide a platform for exchanging ideas around Outsider Art and contemporary art.
Art Fair / Lectures / Performances
Artists, studios, galleries and projects from the fields of art, social affairs and psychiatry will have the chance to meet, network, and build new and deeper partnerships in a productive, inclusive at-mosphere. Visitors who are also interested in the-se subjects are welcome to ask questions and purchase artworks at the four-day art fair. The program also features four lectures, two partici-patory “hands-on” activities and a scenic reading.
The art fairs from 2009 to 2017 is summarized in two books with all its lectures, discussions, actions and the 70 exhibitors. / Die Kunstmessen von 2009 bis 2017 sind in zwei Büchern mit all ihren Vorträgen, Diskussionen, Aktionen und den 70 Ausstellern zusammengefasst.

Vom 30. September bis 3. Oktober 2021 findet das siebte 2x2 Forum für Outsider Art im Kunst-haus Kannen statt. 20 Aussteller präsentieren Bilder und Objekte von Künstlern mit einer seeli-schen Erkrankung oder geistigen Behinderung. Das Forum stellt eine internationale Plattform für den Ideenaustausch rund um den Bereich der so-genannten Außenseiterkunst und zeitgenössi-schen Kunst dar.
Kunstmesse / Vorträge / Aktionen
Auf der viertägigen Kunstmesse treffen sich Künst-ler, Ateliers und Galerien, um Projekte aus dem Umfeld Kunst, Soziales und Psychiatrie in einer kreativen Atmosphäre zu diskutieren, bestehen-de Netzwerke zu vertiefen und neue Kontakte zu knüpfen. Auf der Kunstmesse werde auch Werke direkt verkauft. Mitmachaktionen, Vorträge und Le-sungen ergänzen das Programm.
Das 2x2 Forum steht allen Besuchern von 11 bis 18 Uhr offen, Sie sind herzlich eingeladen.

Das 2x2 Forum für Outsider Art im Kunsthaus Kannen in Münster bot im Oktober 2009 und 2011 anlässlich einer Kunstmesse mit Vorträgen, Workshops und Diskussionen eine europäische Plattform für Kunstwerkstätten, Galerien, Museen und Institutionen, die sich mit dem künstlerischen Schaffenswerk geistig behinderter und psychisch erkrankter Menschen beschäftigen.
In diesem Buch werden 44 Positionen aus der Praxis der Außenseiter-Kunst aus ganz Europa mit ihren aktuellen Konzepten vorgestellt. Das 2x2 Forum bot eine gute Basis zur Vernetzung, aus der neue innovative Kunstprojekte entstanden.
Acht Vorträge und Gesprächkreise zwischen Kuratoren, Sammlern, Galeristen, Künstlern, Assistenten, Therapeuten und Psychiatern thematisierten die Fragen: Wo liegt die Entwicklung und Qualität der Außenseiter-Kunst auch in Beziehung zu zeitgenössischer Kunst ?
In der deutsch/englischen Dokumentation sind alle Vorträge, Podiumsdiskussionen, Gesprächskreise und Kontakte zusammengetragen. Dazu gehören zahlreiche Abbildungen, Fotos und ein Film.
The 2x2 Forum for Outsider Art was held at Kunsthaus Kannen in Münster in October 2009 and 2011; it combined an art fair with lectures, workshops and discussions, offering a European platform for studios, galleries, museums and institutions that deal with the creative work of the mentally handicapped and those suffering from mental health problems.
This book presents 44 views derived from the practice of Outsider Art across Europe including their current concepts. The 2x2 Forum provided good networking opportunities resulting in fresh and innovative art projects.
Eight lectures and forums for discussion between trustees, collectors, gallery owners, artists, assistants, therapists and psychiatrists addressed these issues: What development and what quality are there in Outsider Art and how do they compare to Contemporary Art?
The German/English documentation contains all the lectures, panel discussions, discussion forums and contacts. It includes numerous pictures, photos and a video.

Das 2x2 Forum für Outsider Art im Kunsthaus Kannen in Münster bot im Oktober der Jahre 2013 und 2015, sowie im September 2017 erneut eine europäische Plattform für Kunstwerkstätten, Galerien, Museen und Institutionen, die sich mit dem künstlerischen Schaffenswerk geistig behinderter und psychisch kranker Menschen beschäftigen. Die mehrtägige Kunstmesse bot ein vielfältiges Angebot an Vorträgen, Workshops und Diskussionen.Das Buch stellt die 47 Teilnehmer der vergangenen drei Foren mit ihren aktuellen Konzepten vor. Das 2x2 Forum stellt eine europäische Basis für Vernetzung dar, aus der neue Projekte entstehen können.
In fünf Vorträgen und Diskussionen stellten wir uns die Frage was die neue Aufmerksamkeit für Randgruppen und Randphänomene für unsere Arbeit und die Vermittlung von Outsider Art bedeutet? Auf dem Kunstmarkt ist Outsider Art angekommen. Ist sie aber in den Ausstellungshallen angekommen und wird sie auf Augenhöhe wahrgenommen? In der deutsch/englischen Dokumentation sind einige Vorträge, Diskussionen und Kontakte zusammengetragen. Dazu gehören zahlreiche Abbildungen, Fotos und ein Film.
The 2x2 forum for Outsider Art held in October 2013 and 2015 as well as in September 2017 again offered a European platform for studios, galleries, museums and institutions which deal with artistic works by mentally disabled or ill people. For several days the art fair offered a wide range of lectures, workshops and discussions.The book presents the 47 participants of the past three forums and their current concepts. The 2x2 Forum is a European basis for networking, from which new projects are created.In five lectures and discussions we asked ourselves, what does the new attention for marginal groups and marginal phenomena mean for our work and the communication of Outsider Art? Outsider Art has arrived on the art market. But has it arrived in the exhibition halls and is it perceived as equal?Some lectures, discussions and contacts are gathered in the German/English documentation. This includes numerous illustrations, photos and a film.
