SHORT THROW SHIFTER

Remove plastic vacuum hose from rubberadaptor on the top of valve cover (leaverubber adaptor in place).1

Remove the shift knob.

2Remove the shifter trim.

Remove the top bezel.

Remove screws holding the shifter paneland remove the panel. Pull up andbackward during removing. 6

Remove the electrical connections fromthe bottom of the panel.

Remove the electrical connections fromthe top of the panel.

Disconnect the shifter links and cables.Remove screw holding the shifterassembly. Remove the shifter assembly.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

Mobil 1 synthetic grease

TOOLS REQUIRED

M8 socket wrenchM10 socket wrench7/32 socket wrenchPhillips screw driverLarge flat screw driver

PliersFlat fileSmall hammer

Remove the side shift pivot pin. Pry on thepin with screw driver.

Remove the side shift arm.

Snap off the side shift bushing. Removethe centering spring. Remove the rubbergrommet. 12

Remove the shifter cover screws.

13Release the shifter cover latch. Removethe shifter cover and the shifter leverassembly. 14

Remove the shifter lever bushing.

File a 1/8 (3mm) chamfer on this side ofthe shifter lever to allow removal.

Remove the shifter lever from the cover.

Remove the factory reverse lock link.

18Prepare the Boomba Racing reverse locklink.

Install the Boomba Racing reverse locklink.

Insert the Boomba Racing shift lever intothe shifter cover.

Apply small amount of Mobil syntheticgrease to the shifter ball. Install the shifterlever bushing. 22

Secure the shifter cover to the shifterbase.

Install the rubber grommet and the sideshift bushing.

Install the centering spring and the sideshift arm. Gently tap the side shift pivotpin into position.

Install the shifter cables. Secure theshifter assembly to the floor. Reconnectthe shifter links. Line up the reverse lockwith the shift lever. 26

Install the shifter cover and secure it.

Install the top trim.

Install the shifter trim and the shift knob.Turn the shifter knob in until the reverselock stops catching on the shifter cover.
