Individual Guitar lessons

Mr Mirzae is offering individual piano lessons on a 1:1 basis and every week in term time. These lessons run for 30
minutes and cost 30 € per lesson. Lessons are not charged if they do not take place or during Holidays. Students
will be provided a guitar for the first few lessons though expected to purchase a guitar thereafter.
Mr Mirzae is an accomplished guitarist with has over 25 years teaching experience.
Individual Piano lessons

Eur per half hour lesson
Ms Larak is offering individual piano lessons on a 1:1 basis and every week in term time. These lessons run for 30
minutes and cost 30 € per lesson. Lessons are not charged if they do not take place or during Holidays.
Ms Larak is an accomplished pianist with many years teaching experience with children.

In our German classes we focus on active speaking, reading and writing and also on enlarging our passive comprehension of the language. Apart from literature we do this by also implementing other subjects like science, art and music since language touches all areas of our life. So we make sure that we use the main resource for learning which is: The interest of the child. The children enjoy learning from each other – they want to “have” what the others have and to do what their companions do and we use exactly this energy for differentiated German lessons: the children learn according to their level and they learn through being taught and through teaching others. This important interaction enables them to work on projects and presentations they are actually interested in. We put a special emphasis on two areas: exercises in grace and courtesy in German and on poetry and learning poems by heart. It is my experience that memorized poetry stays with us for a lifetime and gives the children the immediate feeling: “Ich kann das” - I mastered it. Since Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is a son of Frankfurt am Main we have a great source to choose from. This activity will be run in German by Ms Walderdorff who is a trained Montressori teacher and cherished long term member of the extra curricular team. Creative Dance Lab Mondays 15.15-16.15 (P2-P3)

Location: EuroKids Dance Studio Cost: 10 Eur per lesson
The Creative Dance Lab has an educative and artistic character focused on the intercultural co-existence and
exchange between the students through the medium of movement. Dance is an expressive and communicative
tool that transcends the restrictions of language and cultural backgrounds. Somatic exchange and interaction
between the members of the dance community and between various cultures, values diversity and promotes
equality. Moreover social boundaries are being extended, with dance as the catalyst for the creation of new
relationships. In this sense dance can be a tool for individuals and groups to express their identity, feelings and
reinforce group cohesion.
The classes will follow a structure composed of exercises that allow students to get familiarized with various
contemporary dance techniques and develop knowledge of dance vocabulary together with playful
improvisational tasks aiming to explore and cultivate imagination, creativity, expressivity, physicality. More
specifically the classes will consist of a blend of activities; both improvised dance and set moving material and
patterns, solo, partner and group work, moving through levels and layers, with different dynamics, qualities and
rhythms, from upright to the floor. Additional concepts for thematic classes will be • Bodies in space • Sensory
work • Group Communication • Stamina and Endurance (mental and physical) • Music-Voice-Rhythm • Physical
Games • Objects/Props and Bodies • Body parts • Interpretation of texts through movement
Furthermore Creative Dance Lab aims to provide participants an artistic experience leading at the end to an open

Art Club
Mondays 16.15-17.15 (P2-P4)

Die eigenen Fähigkeiten wecken und die Hände als Werkzeug nutzen, möchte ich
fördern. Malerei in allen Facetten, Formaten und Techniken sind das Ziel des Kunstkurses. Wir beschäftigen uns
mit Pinsel und Farbe (Ölkreide, Acryl, Tempera, evtl auch Öl auf Wasserbasis). Arbeiten auf Untergründen, die wir
selbst aufziehen, Papier aller Formate, Holz oder Fundstücken aus der Natur. Sie lernen bekannte Künstler
kennen (speziell auch in Anlehnung an aktuelle Ausstellungen, wie z.B. Miro, Maniera oder andere Meister der
Malerei). Themen erarbeiten wir uns gemeinsam während ich die Techniken vorher einführe und ausprobieren
lasse. Zeichenmaterial (Kohle, Woody, Pastelle, Rötel, Bleistift, Graphitstifte, Buntstifte und Fineliner) gehören
zur Ausstattung und werden je nach Interesse des Kindes gerne für Ideenskizzen genutzt. Portraitszeichnungen
als auch Stilleben sind Bestandteil des Kurses und werden je nach Wunsch in unterschiedlichen Techniken
ausgeführt. Neu in diesem Semester ist die Option zum Drucken mit einer richtigen Druckerpresse (z.B.
Kaltnadelradierungen). Ich freue mich auf die Fantasie der Kinder.

Coding Club
Mondays 15.15-16.15 (P2-P3) & 16.15-17.15 (P3-P5)

In the Digitaltutor Coding Club, we learn to playfully program, build robots, design digitally and master funny
challenges. How can we improve the future and our school? Out of this question, the students start a project.
Based on a concrete problem, we playfully get to know the entire product cycle in order to come up with a
solution. Within the project team, each child finds its fitting role: as a creative concepter and designer, as a
logician and coder, or as a communicator and manager, depending on favor and talent.
With this innovative education offer, we focus on skills for the future and at the same time we guide the children
to find a healthier use of digital media. For a future in which the minds of tomorrow master the digitization, and
none in which digitization dominates our children.
The digital tutoring Coding Club runs throughout the year and is limited to a maximum of 12 children. This Club is
organized by Digitaltutor e.V., a local charity from Frankfurt am Main.

Gaelic Football Mondays 17.00-18.00 (P2-P4)

Location: EuroKids – School Sports Hall Cost: 5 Eur per lesson
Gaelic football, a fast-moving sport from Ireland, is a game that’s fun to play and easy to learn for boys and girls.
Played with a slightly smaller ball than in soccer, both hands and feet are used to control and pass the ball.
Similar to rugby, H-shaped goals are positioned at either end of a rectangular pitch. A score of one point is
awarded when the ball is sent over the bar and a score of three points is awarded when it goes under the bar.
In this class, children will learn and develop the basic skills and the not-so-basic rules of Gaelic football. Emphasis
will be placed on developing players’ agility, balance, co-ordination and ball-handling skills as well as improving
speed and fitness.
This class will be led by coaches from Frankfurt Sarsfields GAA Club. More information can be found under

Your children will express their creativity through bags, monster cushions, hoodies, costume, t-shirts and many
more fun projects. Our young architects will think 3-dimensionally, work with different fabrics, prepare and use
patterns, and solve problems like sewing squares with circles. They will experience the satisfaction of making an
object with their own hands, and each new project will seam easier and quicker.
Understanding leads to interest and respect; the kids will want to repair their cloths themselves and sew their
presents instead of buying them.

Wir laden sie zum polsnichen Unterricht ein! Die Teilnahme der Kinder am Unterricht gibt ihnen Gelegenheit die Polnischkenntnisse zu vertiefen und die polnische Kinderliteratur kennen zu lernen. Lesen und Schreiben werden erlernt oder gefestigt, der Wortschatz erweitert und die Kommunikation unterstützt. Der Ziel ist es, das Interesse der Kinder am Land Polen und seiner Kultur zu wecken und zu stärken. Wir möchten die Mehrsprachigkeit unserer Kinder unterstützen. This Club will be run in Polish by Ms Nowak, a qualified Polish teacher with years of experience with children.

Taekwondo
Tuesdays 16.15-17.15 (P2-P4) & 17.15-18.15 (P4-P5)
Spoken Languages:

Taekwondo is a Korean martial arts and stands for Foot (Tae), Fist (Kwon) and Spiritual Path (Do). Taekwondo
techniques are designed for speed and dynamics, not least because of the competition. In taekwondo, foot
techniques dominate more clearly than in comparable martial arts.
EuroKids trainer Mohamed Ebnoutalib was a regular member of the German Taekwondo national team for as
many years. During his competition days, he won many medals in world ranking tournaments, as well as
European and World Championships. Included among his greatest achievements include the Vice World
Champion title 2003 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Vice European Champion title in Riga. His diligence and
commitment in training and his sensitivity to the strengths and weaknesses of each of his students make him an

American Sports

Head Coach Theatis Walters (‘T’) will be giving the children an introduction into American flag football, basketball
& softball. The first trimester will introduce children to american flag football the 2nd semester will have a focus
on basketball and the last trimester will round off with softball. With over 20 years teaching experience with
youth teams T is much loved by students and has a proven track record of building youth teams. This group is
also with a view to developing our own teams in American Sports and playing against local teams.

Theatre
Wednesdays 15.15-16.15 (P2 – P4)

In theatre class the pupils learn different skills such as movement, body expression, mime, gestures, speech
training and singing. They develop and play their tasks through teamwork. They train empathy and other social
skills by acting together, rehearsing and roleplay. Various tales, stories, or topics will be the impotus for acting
and improvisation. The pupils develop their characters and their ideas as well as the story, the dialogues,
monologues, speech chorus or movements. The dialogues and the acting will be fixed in January with the main
performance will being in June 2019. Ms Vortisch is very much loved by the children and especially

Green Team
Wednesdays 15.15-16.15 (P2 – P4)
Spoken Languages:
Location: EuroKids Garden & Class Room Cost: 10 Eur per lesson
Children will learn about nature in a fun and playful environment, with the use of games, activities, experiments and an ongoing organic gardening project. We will plant seeds and watch the plants grow throughout the year, ultimately harvesting fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. We will also be learning about the importance of protecting our environment through waster reduction and ‘green’ initiatives.
The course will be held in English and/or German.
The maximum number of participants is 10. Should there be more interest, the formation of a second club is a possibility.
Recorder Lessons
Wednesdays 15.15-15.45 or 15.45-16.15 (P2–P5)

Recorder is a wonderful instrument for children that can bring joy for a lifetime. It is an instrument in its own right with an extensive intermediate and advanced repertoire. It can also serve as a first experience that provides a good transition to another instrument. The children love to play everything from medieval to modern music and especially enjoy playing melodies and songs they already know from favorite bands, movies or musicals. This course comprises of two 30 minute lessons for students with a maximum of 3 students per half hour lesson and will be run in German or English by Ms Walderdorff who is a trained Montressori teacher and cherished long term member of the extra curricular team.
Yoga
Wednesdays 15.15-16.15 (P2 – P5)
Spoken Languages:
Location: EuroKids Dojo Cost: 9 Eur per lesson
Body, breath, heart, awereness and creativity are the five main competences of human beings. In yoga class we
train and stimulate these five competences by doing yoga practice, meditation for beginners and games of body
awereness and creativity.
„Game&Movement“ - „Concentration&Breathing&Quietness“-„Tension&Relaxation“- „Yoga&Acrobatics“ are the
topics and Yoga class is open for all pupils from 2nd to 5th Grade.

ICT
Wednesdays 15.15-16.15 (P3 – P5)

Location: ESF Computer Lab Cost: 10 Eur per lesson
Learn the skills of Microsoft Office, comic book and computer game
design in a fun and exciting environment.
In the 1st trimester, pupils will learn the basic/intermediate skills of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint &
Microsoft Excel while working on a range of exciting projects. In the 2nd trimester, the focus will be on creativity
in Trimester 2 with pupils working on Art and Literacy projects to create online stories and comic books.
Trimester 3 will focus on programming. Children will focus on the critical elements of computer game design
before taking their first steps to programming with Scratch programming.
The course delivered by Mr Fox (ESF ICT Teacher) in English & German.

extremely limited and we will endeavor to increase capacity throughout the school
year.

Location: EuroKids Creative Studio Cost: 12 Eur per lesson
Das Material Ton bietet dir ein großes Spektrum an Möglichkeiten. Ob du erste Erfahrungen mit dem Material sammelst oder ob du dich bereits an kompliziertere Arbeiten heranwagst: als Teilnehmer erweiterst du stets deine persönlichen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten. Es ist ein Ertasten, Erfühlen, Erleben mit allen Sinnen. Ganz spielerisch und kreativ gestalten wir unsere eigene Welt der Phantasie. Dabei erfährst du sehr viel über die Möglichkeiten, die dir das Material bietet und lernst Schritt für Schritt die entsprechenden Techniken. Auch erste Versuche an der Töpferscheibe stehen auf dem Programm. This Club will be run in German by Ms Kaplan, Art Therapist, though Ms Kaplan is also a fluent English speaker.

Paddy is a professional dancer and specialises in Salsa LA-Style, Bachata, Old school Hip Hop and Breakdance
(Bboying/Bgirling). He started dancing at the age of 15 and has taught and performed since 2008 nationally and
internationally. Paddy is also involved in social projects, e.g. working with handicapped people. He has been
working for the LaCalidad Dance Center Frankfurt since November 2013 and for the ECB for several years. Beside
dancing, Paddy has a Bachelor degree in pedagogy and is now continuing with a master degree in special
education.
In his classes he first concentrates on isolation exercises and stretching – a must for every dancer! After that he
teaches different dance styles from the hip hop culture, as well as single steps (hip hop freestyle) combined in
great choreographies. But it’s not only about learning some steps – moreover it’s really important to have fun
and to enjoy the dance. Let’s have a great time together! This course will be taught in English and / or German.

Approach
The most important aspect of (language) tuition is to engage the learner; at your child’s age this means learning
in a playful way as it disinhibits and promotes confidence in communication. In this course, providing a variety of
exercises and by combining mental and physical elements is key to channelling youngsters’ excessive nervous
energy. As your child progresses, more emphasis will be placed on explicit teaching in this course, more use of
written materials and increased use of correct language terminology in order to make the transition to

This club will introduce children to the world of photography. Basic photography techniques will be taught throughout the course and children will be encouraged to be imaginative and creative while using a compact digital camera or smartphone. No prior photography knowledge is required with the main focus of the club being on fun and exploration. This Club will be taught in English by Ms Vernon (she is also fluent in German and Spanish) who aside from being an avid photographer is our newest member of the Extra Curricular team and is responsible for coordinating the Extra Curricular programme after working for many years in the field of children’s activities coordination.
Ballet

Professional dance training by qualified and experienced teachers. The methodically structured instruction offers
the children a steady technical growth in their dance education.
In our ballet school, the Russian-academic style of ballet is performed according to the method of A.J. Vaganova
already taught for children upwards 3 years. The child-friendly instruction in the children's classes serves the
purpose of promoting creativity in children in order to contribute to the development of little independent
artistic personalities and gradually introduces them to the demanding ballet training.
These lessons are with a view to progression into our ballet academy intensified lessons (coming soon), which
open the way for the children into a possible later professional dance education and prepare them specifically.

EuroKids Athletics is intended to bring excitement into doing athletics. Events and the organization of the training will enable children to discover basic activities and develop skills. There will be running, jumping, throwing (in just about any place you can think of), sprinting, long jump and multi-event endurance all regardless of the weather.
In the early stages of 'Long Term Athlete Development' (5-12 years) we aim to use general training to target generic athletic development by deliberately focusing on play and enjoyment. These fundamental athletic principles are the basis for preparation across all sports and disciplines hence the need for their introduction at a young age.
Every training session is tailored, varied and highly structured following a lesson plan and annual plan led by professional trainers educated to the highest coaching level with 20 years of teaching experience. Strong Kids Protect Themselves

In the class: “Strong kids protect themselves“ your child can learn their own potential and limits. In the self-
defense class they can test the power of their voice, smash planks and practice saying “NO!”. Moreover, they can
pick up tips about prevention (methods how to avoid dangerous situations), self-assertion (possibilities how to
strengthen the self-confidence in critical situations), self-defense (instructions for behaving in case of use of
violence). Furthermore, it is possible to do a belt-examination in Judo and Ju-Jutsu.
We also would like to give an insight into the Ju-Jutsu Fighting System:
Carina Neupert and Pia Van Thurenhout are both athletes of the German National Team Ju-Jutsu /Fighting.
Carina is a physiotherapist. She is three-time World Championship winner, winner of the World Combat Games,
twice European Champion and two times 3rd place at the World Games in Ju-Jutsu. In addition, she is successful
head-coach of team Bavaria. She has the second Dan Ju-Jutsu.
In 2016 Pia reached the 5th place at the World Championships and vice-champion at Paris Open in Ju-Jutsu. She
also fights Judo for the 2nd national league. She has the second Dan in Judo and the first Dan in Ju-Jutsu. She
works as a teacher for the subjects’ sports, English and German.Both have a training-license and are experienced
working with children and are looking forward to train with your kids.
Taekwondo

My name is Galina Groß and I have been working at the ESF as a laboratory assistant for almost five years. This
multifaceted activity lead me to develop the Crazy Laboratory for young students. In this course, the children wil
not only observe highly interesting inventions and experiments, but also participate in the experiments and feel
like true scientists themselves. We will accomplish many interesting experiments with simple chemicals, air, water,
light and electricity. This will increase the children’s scientific understanding as well as convince them that science
is fun and inspire them to be curious young researchers!
This school year we also have the pleasure of welcoming Mr Papadopoulus (ESF laboratory assistant) to the Crazy
Laboratory. He wil be supporting Ms Groß on a weekly basis to ensure smiles all round.
Recorder Lessons

Recorder is a wonderful instrument for children that can bring joy for a lifetime. It is an instrument in its own right with an extensive intermediate and advanced repertoire. It can also serve as a first experience that provides a good transition to another instrument. The children love to play everything from medieval to modern music and especially enjoy playing melodies and songs they already know from favorite bands, movies or musicals. This year we are implementing smaller groups and the
course comprises of two 30 minute lessons for students with a maximum of 3 students per half hour lesson and
will be run in German by our experienced music teacher, Ms Kuhner-Lück. Children will be provided with a
recorder to take home and music books.

In our backetball course, the most important thing for us is to have fun! In age-specific small groups, a warm-up game is performed at the beginning.
Afterwards, children will get a feel for the ball through different forms of exercise and build upon these
exercises. In addition to training shooting, the basic rules in basketball, team spirit and fair play are learned
through mini matches.
Important: please ensure your child comes with appropriate sportswear, indoor shoes with light soles and a water
bottle.
This course is run by Family Fischer who have been providing sporting clubs taking place afterschool for the past
10 years.

Extra Curricular Activities
At EuroKids, the school day doesn’t end with the last class. Our Extra Curricular Programme provides students
with opportunities to spend time in a relaxed environment, learning new skills beyond the classroom. It also
gives students the opportunity to work and build friendships with students from different sections and grades.
New Extra Curricular activities start in the 2nd week back to school after the summer break and are offered over all 3 Trimesters throughout the year. The Extra Curricular Activity Programme is a service at EuroKids that provides children an opportunity to pursue other activities afterschool in their school setting.
Locations:
Times: Mondays-Wednesdays 15.15- 18.15, Thursdays & Fridays 13.00-18.15
Pick up: Pick up takes place from the EuroKids Container Village, directly from the activity location or from
childminding services for those children registered for childminding.
Activities: Most activities are run for a full hour, with a few exceptions. The first activities begin directly
afterschool, with further activities beginning on the hour. The children who are registered for activities will be directed where to go by a member of our Team and then by their Activity Leaders. Children in later activities are normally registered for childminding services and directed to the club by their childminders.
Costs: Detailed costs for all activities are listed on our website under www.eurokids.gmbh
Trial: After the summer holidays, students have the opportunity to try different activities from our Extra
Curricular Programme. Trials can be made by completing a registration (see below). If you do not wish your child to continue with an activity, after a 2 week trial, please contact [email protected] to ensure that your registration in cancelled. This will incur a 20 Eur cancellation fee. In the case your child is happy with their activity, registrations will automatically run for each trimester until cancelled.
We have a limited amount of places available for our activities and if you do not get a place for
your child upon registration we will ensure your child joins the waiting list and contact you as soon as a space becomes available.
Extra-Curricular Activities
What are Extra Curricular Activities?
Extra Curricular Activities are activities which take place after school such as football, ballet etc…
How can I register for Extra Curricular Activities?
These can be applied for online under www.eurokids.gmbh
Parents must be a member of the European School Frankfurt Parents’ association to apply for Extra Curricular Activities.
Can my child try out activities mid year or mid trimester?
Yes, for a trial day at any time please apply online. All trials of activities are subject to space being available. Due to the high number of applications throughout the year, applications should be made at least 1 week in advance of the preferred trial date. If children do not wish to continue with a club after a trial of 2 weeks out tem should be informed via [email protected] This will incur a 20 Eur administration charge.
How long does the extra-curricular contract last and when and how can I terminate it?
After a 2 week trial period, the contract then lasts for one school trimester and will automatically be extended for another trimester if not terminated by sending a mail to [email protected]. The contract will also extend into the next school year e.g. Trimester 3 into Trimester 1 if this is not cancelled prior to the end of the 3rd trimester.
During the 2 week trial period, the contract can be cancelled any time.
To make changes or cancel activities -
1. Send an e-mail, detailing the changes you wish to make, at least 1 week prior to the last school day at
the end of each trimester to-
2. Await Confirmation mail
3. Changes take effect from the beginning of each new trimester (excluding initial trial period)
How do I pay for Extra Curricular Activities?
Activities are booked at the end of each school trimester, after the activities have taken place. Parents will receive a SEPA notification mail detailing costs which will be debited from the account which was provided in your Parent Association membership application.
Who do I contact regarding invoices and financial bookings?
Please contact our team at [email protected], we would be pleased to help you. Are there times when activities do not take place?
No activities take place on days when the ESF school is closed, the last day before the Summer and Winter breaks
and the first week of school after the Summer Break. We try to avoid cancellations (due to teacher illness etc.. )
during term time wherever possible, through provision of alternative teachers, though in the case this is not
possible, childminding services are provided.
Will I still be charged if a certain activity does not take place?
No, activities are calculated on the number of weeks they take place and booked from parents accounts at the
end of each trimester. Childminding services are provided for children in the unlikely event of activities not
taking place.
What happens if I am late picking up my child?
After an activity has ended, those children not collected by parents are brough back to childmindinding. For
parents of children not registered with childminding, additional costs will be charged if parents are late.
Do I have to do anything if I receive a mail that my child is on an activity waiting list?
No. Our team will contact you as soon as a place becomes available in your child’s chosen activity. If the group

Why are Sports Activities not taking place earlier, directly after school?
Space is limited and EuroKids is very fortunate that the ESF kindly offers its sports facilities for EuroKids Extra
Curricular Activities after 16.00. Prior to this time the sports hall is being used for regular school sports lessons
for secondary students. On Tuesdays the Sports hall is used for EuroSports more information can be found here -
We have introduced new terms and conditions to ensure that Extra Curricular Activities can continue to function
in the best way possible. These will be available online, shortly, along with registrations.
