FluoGene is a unique method for molecular HLA-, RBC- and HPA typing combining all advantages of the SSP –PCR with the speed of endpoint fl uorescence detection. The analysis is based on a specifi cally modifi ed TaqMan® probe system by inno-train.

Detection with integrated evaluation is realized in the semi-automated FluoVista version by the FluoGene evaluation software. By the use of a barcode scanner plate-specifi c data can be easily read from the FluoGene tray and sample-ID can be scanned and automatically transferred into the FluoGene Software. The fully-automated FluoStation version with an integrated pipetting unit is already equipped with a barcode scanner.

FluoGene is a self-contained system comprising the ready-to-use Kits, the detection device and the software solution displaying the typing results immediately after the evaluation read. For the PCR set-up simply add your diluted sample DNA to the ready-to-use FluoMix and dispense 15 µl per well over the PCR plate. This manual step is performed automatically by the FluoStation version. Afterwards the FluoGene plates are sealed with an adhesive optical foil. The subsequent pre- and post-reads are generated in a closed environment. Therefore any risk of a post-PCR contamination gets eliminated.

The FluoGene Software supplies the immediate display of typing results, as well as a fully-automated data management.

The FluoGene System can be easily upgraded in its degree of automation. In the minimal confi guration our economically-priced FluoVista Analyzer is needed for the fl uorescence detection in addition to the standard thermal cycler. The FluoStation offers an even higher grade of automation by its integrated pipetting unit and barcode scanner in addition to the incorporated

fl uorescence detector. Both systems are delivered with a computer system and the FluoGene Software package.

A modular automation concept from setup to analyzer control to the point of a complete walk-away-automation is in evaluation. For further information please contact us directly.

The supplied FluoGene software automatically combines raw data from pre- and post-read and immediately performs the evaluation of typing results. Positive reactions are clearly displayed with a (+), while negative reactions are shown with a (-). The measured values for the specifi c and control reaction as well as the corresponding cut-off values can be seen by clicking on the bars in the graphical data display.

Further functions are the display of the serological equivalents and the discrimination between CWD and rare alleles.

The FluoGene Software has its own database, saves or exports the results with the corresponding sample information and enables a GMP conform report with a technical and a following medical validation.
