Background

• Through the Federal Race to the Top Grant, the Florida Department of Education has:

• Awarded a grant to Indian River State College to fund and guide all 12 institutions with the development and delivery of professional development on seven tools throughout the grant period in the year 2014-2015.

• It will serve as resources for teachers and administrators in the implementation of the Florida Standards.

Background continued

• Delivery to school districts and state colleges in February through June of 2015. The purpose of the grant is to create:

• Professional development for teachers, administrators, and preservice teacher education faculty and students, both face-to-face and online.

• Internet-based tutorials on each tool, its purpose, and the manner in which it may be accessed by target populations

• An internet-based repository for digital professional development resources related to these tools for target populations
