From the Principal’s Desk
I trust each of you had a wonderful Spring Break and took the opportunity to enjoy the terrific weather that
Mother Nature provided us. If there is one thing we all learn quickly, it is that we cannot stop “the hand of
time.” It is almost surreal that it is already April, and we have approximately ten school weeks to meet all our
educational goals.
Please make sure your child is here on time after eating a nutritious breakfast. Encourage them to be thoughtful and focused as they complete all of their assessments. We also encourage you to remind your children to read, play educational games, and have meaningful conversations with you throughout the week. Meaningful conversations with adults build vocabulary and further the connection with your child. Before you know it, May will be here and the fun end of year activities and celebrations. Before Spring Break, all students received their report cards. I am very pleased to see the growth that our students have made. A thank you to students for their diligence, staff for the hard work, and parents for all of the support. I would personally like to thank the many people that have volunteered during the school year. Your gift of time helps make Laneville School an excellent place for our students. I would like to once again, thank you for choosing Laneville Schools for your child’s educational needs. We feel incredibly fortunate to have the students and families we have in our school community. Warmest Regards, Mr. Tremont

PERFECT ATTENDANCE
Parents,
Spring is here. We are at an important part of the school year as we are preparing for testing for our state accountability. It is imperative that students are here every day in order to receive the optimal instruction
necessary for success. Please be aware that on April 10 grades 4 & 7 will test on writing, grades 5 & 8 will test on math, and high school will have their English I EOC test. On April 11, grades 5 & 8 will test on reading, and on April 12 high school students will take their English II EOC test. It is important that these students receive a good night’s sleep in order to be well rested for their tests. The next round of testing for high school will be May 8-10, and grades 3-8 will test May 15-17. As a reminder, we will have school on Friday, April 20 to make up for the “Snow Days” that we missed back in January. Continue to view the Laneville ISD webpage as all school activities are listed on the website’s calendar, as there are many activities from now until the end of school. Your support and encouragement of your student is greatly appreciated as we continue to work together in ensuring your child is successful in all aspects of their education. Respectfully, Teresa Shelton Superintendent, Laneville ISD
