YOUTH NEWS

December 2018 newsletter The Christmas Program was so nice! We have so many talented kids in our church. Raimi, Archer and

Livia sang solos and Sarah played the piano. All the kids did such a great job and they were so fun to watch.

Many thanks to the Board of Christian Education and Marilyn for all of their hard work.

Steeple People had supper at Fairway View and also played bingo with the residents. It was a fun night.

We had our annual Ugly sweater, hat and socks party. We also played the dice game and everyone left with

some nice gifts and some funny gag gifts. They are such a fun group of kids!

Glue Kids will be having a New Year’s Party when we meet again in January.

Sunday school youth had their Christmas program. It was such a fun time watching this!

Coming up for January: 2nd-All classes resume Roger and Ann Lundberg

13th- Mentor meeting 10:00 am (In the youth room)

16th- No Glue Kids

Just For The Love Of It supper put on by the 7th-12th grade youth

20th- 10:30 am- 7th and 8th grade Confirmation students and Mentors at Fairway View for training with

Tami

27th- Youth Sunday (youth lead the worship service)

Youth Fundraiser Breakfast 10:00 am

Thank you to Pastor Dave and Anne Tonn for a donation to the youth.

the pastor(s). Current members of this committee are Garry Swenson, Marge Dragseth, Scott Simonitch, and

Shannon Millerbernd.

If any congregant has an issue and doesn’t feel they can talk directly to the Pastor, they are invited to speak to

one of the committee members. Please consider this an open invitation; both negative and positive comments

are welcome. The committee meets with the Pastor twice each year, more frequently if necessary. Thank you to

Annual Meeting of the Congregation of FELC

will be held will be held Sunday, January 20th,

at 10:30 am in the sanctuary.

The Church Council has put in place the following procedure for Sunday winter weather cancellations:

Decision to cancel will be made by 7:00 am on Sunday morning.

Pastor will consult with head custodian (Dean) and organists (four of our organists live in the country and

we do not want them in danger because of trying to get here).

Announcement to cancel will be called into KDIO Radio, and put on our Facebook page if possible. We

will also call Fairway View.

We ask that when in doubt you err on side of caution when making the decision to come in inclement

weather.

Please think about the following, and if you are willing, leave your thoughts in the opportunity sheet box in

the narthex. Pastor Dave would like to incorporate your thoughts into a future newsletter and or service at a

future time.
