1. Cotton heaping not proper.

Solution: Follow S.O.P. do Cotton Heaping in a scientific and away from the cotton heaps for operational reasons.

1. Heaping of cotton around the water reservoir defeated the purpose of having the fire fighting mechanism.

• There should not be any power supply in the “Go downs” where Cotton Bales are stored. Short Circuit may lead to severe fire.

• Keep the Vehicle silencer covered with fire-arrester or wet cloth other wise the spark from vehicle may engulf the Cotton Heap.

1. Uncovered silencer of Truck may leave some spark which may get buried in the Cotton Bales resulting into “burrowed fire”.

Solution: Cover silenser with wet cloth.

believed to be due to a spark from over head electrical spark.

Solution: Do not heap under over head electrical wires.

Keep space vacant under it.
