What you’ll coverexplore your creativity through beinggiven time, space, support andencouragement to experiment with mediaand materials to the highest levels.Studio work on the course is rightlyrecognised as being at the cutting edge ofcontemporary fine art practice, withstudents being awarded places at theStudents’ International Biennale andoffered artists’ residencies at home andabroad. Graduates regularly progress toMasters programmes such as our MAFine Art, and develop practice as leadingfine art practitioners in their field.

How you’ll learnYou'll be taught though studio workshops,group and individual tutorials, seminarsand lectures - all of which are supportedby a diverse visiting artists' programme.During the course, you’ll also have thechance to go on a visit to a cultural centrein Europe or the USA in each year of yourcourse, and you'll also visit local andnational museums and galleries.

Your careerYour artistic and creative independencewill make you self motivated andresourceful, so your skills will be reallyvaluable to the creative industries.

Apart from becoming a practising artist,you could go on to have a career incuratorship, art therapy, community artswork or teaching.

We own and manage a businessincubation unit for the creative industries– Banks Mill. If you want to start your ownbusiness you will receive studioworkspace and business support for avery reasonable rent, in a vibrant andthriving community of artists, designersand makers.

Additional informationStaff have international reputations asprincipal artists in their specialistdisciplines, which cover the wide range ofapproaches expected of today's foremostpractitioners. Tutors have exhibited,toured and lectured across the countryand overseas, including in Ireland,Portugal and Australia.

As well as being substantially renownedartists, all lecturers have significantbackgrounds as educators, with vastexperience of working at Higher

Entry requirements: Academic – 240 UCAS tariff points, ofwhich at least 200 must be from yourInternational Baccalaureate or equivalentqualification.
