Job: Compliance and Assurance Business PartnerLocation: Bridgend, South WalesSalary: £30,192

What’s the role?Maintain a high level of understanding in respect of assurance and compliance matters that affect us, and contribute to the development and operation of these compliance activities. Ensure that our assurance and compliance activities are customer- focused, aligned to our business, pragmatic and proportionate. Support the Assurance and Performance Team in providing a responsive, efficient and professional service to our customers.

What will I have to do? I will…

1. Ensure all statutory returns and associated documents are filed with registrars, government bodies and regulators.

2. Support the Governance and Assurance Manager to undertake analysis and advisory work to establish process and controls that reduce the risk of non-compliance.

3. Provide rudimentary guidance and advice to staff on aspects of regulatory and statutory compliance for activities managed within the Assurance and Performance Team.

4. Assist in the development and maintenance of internal compliance practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory frameworks, and identify actions that may need to be taken to remedy weakness or non-compliance.

5. Raise awareness of key regulation and standards, encouraging a culture of compliance.

6. Design, develop and maintain rigorous and effective systems of operational compliance.

7. Ensure that all policies and procedures are accurately logged, version controlled and that a process for policy and procedure renewal is implemented.

8. Administer and maintain key control documents including the policy register, information asset register, and the business continuity plan.

9. Identify compliance training needs within the business and develop and deliver specific training materials to the business.

10. Act as system administrator for solutions managed by the team.

11. Provide support within the team during periods of absence.

12. Support the organisation’s equality and diversity activities.

13. Take personal responsibility for the health and safety of myself and others by working within our Health and Safety policy and procedures at all times.

No job profile can cover every eventuality which may arise within the post at various times and the jobholder is expected to carry out other duties requested by the Line Manager or Manager.

What will I need to be successful? I will…

• Demonstrate experience gained within a regulated environment, with proven recent experience of providing a pragmatic approach to managing compliance risks.

• Be committed to maintaining and promoting a robust compliance culture and high ethical standards within the organisation.

• Provide advice on the development systems and processes and be comfortable recommending solutions to reduce risks of non-compliance.

• Have an understanding in respect of matters that might affect us, and continually and actively develop technical knowledge in relation to the regulatory and statutory frameworks governing the organisation and its activities.

• Demonstrate an analytical-thinking approach with the ability to think objectively and demonstrate sound judgement.

• Be highly organised, methodical and able to manage conflicting deadlines.

• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.

• Work flexibly, including working outside normal working hours to attend and facilitate meetings.

• Develop a range of skills and knowledge outside of the core role requirements so as to be able to provide cover across the team.

Terms & ConditionsFee: £30,192

Annual Leave: 25 days increasing by 1 for every completed year up to a maximum of 5 days plus bank holidays.

Pension: SHPs (You pay 4%, we pay 6%)

Relocation: Reasonable relocation expenses payable if applicable
