    General Description of the Unions Villages are isolated and surrounded by

    Haor; locally named as AATI. After flash

    flood, the entire area gets inundatedwhen erosion of soil takes place due towave action causing damage of HH &disrupts livelihood.

    The only rice crop (Boro) is cultivatedand harvest is subject to sudden flashflood and require high ground forstorage.

    People use RCC roads for communicationwhich remains submerged for more than6 months.

    90% of inhabitants use open toilets. Within 4 to 5 km there is no markets or

    even graveyard for burial. No Electricity

    2. Sewing Machine (Sewing Machine + capital to buy clothes) - Tk 20,000X 50 = 1,000

    3. Small business (capital support) 2/3 small shops in one village - Tk 20,000X 10 = 20

    4.Handicrafts (if bamboo or other locally available grass varieties are available)

    5. Boat & net (small boat and net) to catch fish - Tk 25,000X 10 = 250,000

    6. Large Engine boat for transportation purpose (in a group of 3 or 4) depending upon

    to Tk 75,000, one boat for a group of 3) (This can be used in emergency as well) at lea

    each village. Say: 4 Nos@ 75000/=300000 tk

    7. Power Tiller (this can be a good option, during flood they can use the engine to run

    during dry season they can use it as short transportation, ploughing purpose (one goo

    power tiller costs Tk 125,000, can be given to a group of 4 person). Say 4 Nos @ 1250
