When I was only 6 months old we moved to Arizona. We lived in a very small mining town called San Manuel. This is where I spent my entire childhood until I was 17.

There was only 56 students in my high school senior class. 2 of the schools and the grocery store have closed down.

San Manuel may have been small, but it had everything any one could need. A grocery store, gas stations, a car dealership, a healthcare center, 2 elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school all within a 2 square mile radius.

That is until the copper mine was sold and then closed down. Most people moved away and it almost became a ghost town.

Birth of Alan

When I was 18 months old my brother Alan was born. He is probably the single most influential person and thing in my life.

When Alan was only 5 years old he was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis, it is a tumor causing cancer. Alan had a brain tumor that was operated on 3 times. At one time he was only given 6 months to live, today he is almost 25 years old

What a great Young Man

Alan has the greatest outlook on life even with everything he has been through. He touches the lives of every person that crosses his path, I am one of the luckiest people in the world to have him as a brother.

He reminds me everyday to look on the bright side

Happy Marriages

My parents were very happily married for 13 years, but the stress of raising a special needs child put too much of a strain on their marriage and they divorced.

I now am happily married to my high school sweetheart

Future

I plan to get a business and social work degree and hope to help adults with special needs and elderly people that have no family.

Maybe one day we will have another child as well
