Wesleyan College of Manila celebrated its 16th founding anniversary last September 8,2016.

FESTIVE WESLEYAN AT 16th Anniversary

Wesleyan College of Manila celebrated its 16th anniversary in the first week of September.

The colorful eye-catching decorations were inspired by the Festival in the Philippines.

The jubilant vibe of the Wesleyanians can be felt in every

inch of the campus.

The „opening parade‟ took place on the streets of Leveriza,

San Juan, Donada and Fresno.

Students and teachers shared their gratitude by entertaining

the people in the streets with street dance and festive

music.

During the Field Demonstration, students from primary

to high school performed Philippine festival dances.

Their costumes were vibrant and rich in colors, which

amazed the audience.

All the students danced gracefully and energetically.

The week-long celebration also came with lots of

fascinating booths like Mystery Wesleyan, Maze Game,

Movie Booth, and more.

Nutrition Day

Nutrition day was celebrated Last July 4 with theme “Savor the flavor of Eating Right”.

Students always study about the importance of being healthy.

Everyone was taught that eating nutritious food determines the stability of one‟s life.

Selected students represented their grade level for some competitions.

Poster making, slogan making and more was held at the library of the school.

Students performed also danced, sang, and wrote poems about

the importance of being healthy.

Each student has their own role to have a fun and memorable

day for everyone.

Grade 10 and Grade 6 Acquaintance

SSG officers conducted an acquaintance party, which they called “Slumber party” last July 24.

The Slumber party was held at the gymnasium of the school.

SSG officers prepared exciting activities for the students who attended the event.

Students performed to make the event more fun and exciting as well.

They laughed, danced, played games and ate.

They cherished the hours given to them to talk to each other and get to know each other.

Students cooperated on the said event.

SSG officers gave their best to make the acquaintance party

fun.

College Acquaintance Party

The SSG and Rotaract officers organized the College Acquaintance Party

at Tramway, Roxas Boulevard last August 27,216.

It was participated by College and Chinese students, faculty and

professors of Wesleyan College of Manila.

After a long week of preparation, SSG and Rotaract officers came up with

an event which was truly memorable.

Angel Rick Santiago and Janelle Senon, both BSBA Marketing students,

were the host of the night.

Jose Lorenzo Laurente, the SSG president, opened the program with a

prayer.

Patricia Faith Agatia, the Rotaract president, delivered the opening

remarks. Dr. Rhea Eden also gave a special message to the students.

The SSG and Rotaract officers prepared games and the students and

faculty member gladly accepted the challenges.

The event would not be complete without a special number. Kate Bueno

and Erika Viray sang Stay With Me by Sam Smith and I’m Yours by Jason

Mraz accompanied by ukulele played by Jamie Auleary De Castro.

Dr. York Han gave the closing remarks.

John Wesley Day

Wesleyan College of Manila celebrated John Wesley‟s birthday last July 16, 2016.

It was held in the school‟s auditorium.

Students watched a video clip about John Wesley‟s biography.

After the short video, Mrs. Jobelle Beiruti conducted a quiz bee about Wesley‟s life.

SSG Election in WCM

Last June 23 was the election of the SSG officers. It was held at the school auditorium. Two party lists had their own responsible leaders and members.

The two party lists are the Sherlock and Solid party lists. Each member of the party lists pledged about what they can do to help the school and to be model students for others.

Other members are new or transferee students, but they proved themselves that they will be responsible and trustworthy officers.

Each party list had its own platform and plans for future events.

The following are the lists of winners in the election.

Noong ika-17 ng Agosto ginanap sa silid aklatan ng Wesleyan ang patimpalak sa pagguhit,pagsulat ng tula at paggawa ng salawikain. Noong araw na rin na iyon ginanaop rin sa bawat silid aralan ang pag gawa ng sanaysay. Lahat ng patimpalak na iyon ay iisa lang ang tema yoon ay “Filipino, wika ng karunungan”.

Noong ika-18 ng Agosto ginanap ang Araw ng Wika sa awitoryum ng Wesleyan. May tema na “Filipino, wika ng ka-runungan”. Naglaan ng oras at panahon ang mga estudyante para makapag ensayo sa mga kani-kanilang presentasyon. Bawat lebel ay nag pamalas ng kahusayan sa mga ginawa nila na nababatay sa ating mga tradisyon noon.

Bawat estudyante ay nagpamalas ng kani-kanilang kaalaman at kahusayan. Bawat tao na dumalo noong araw na iyon ay

ginawa ang mga nakasanayang gawin ng ating mga ninuno. Bawat estudyante ay nag bigay nang kani-kanilang kooperasyon

WCM Retreat of Grade 6 and 10

The Grade 6 and 10 students had their Retreat last September 2 and 3 in Wesleyan College of Manila.

Teachers and students made the event successful. They played, ate, and had fun. It was very memorable for each and every students who participated.

“Retreat is all about a day of surrendering or telling problems to each and every classmates.” When they cried it doesn‟t mean they were weak, it means they were strong enough to show the real emotions in a certain thing.

The retreat that the Grade 6 and 10 students were filled with fun, frightening, tearful and happy moments.

The 6 and 10 bonded together and felt like they are all real sisters and brothers.
