PASTOR’S COLUMN
Greetings in Christ,
September was a busy month. We celebrated UMW Sunday to recognize the
efforts and dedications of our United Methodist Women. We also had W.O.W.
(Worship Outside the Walls) Sunday in a creative way by collecting various items for
Waxahachie Care. Then, we will have a special moment this Sunday to celebrate
Lord’s Day. I want to deeply give thanks to you all for continuous supports and prayers
in spite of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
We believe God unconditionally loves us in any circumstances. In October, we
are focusing on our relationships with God and God’s people by using a sermon series,
the Five Love Languages, which are Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Acts of
Service, Physical Touch, and Receiving Gifts. I use a book, called Five love
languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts by Gary Chapman. Through the series, I
would like to share with you how God had built a loving relationship with the biblical
characters. I hope it will be the month that we may rethink how to express God’s love
to our neighbors through these love languages in the Pandemic. God will never stop
loving us in any circumstances. We need to continue to love our neighbors in any
circumstances. May God bless you and your relationships through October!
In Christ’s Love,
Your Pastor, Rev. John Han

Operation Christmas Child
Beginning the first Sunday in October we will start the process of packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
Each shoebox you pack helps a local church around the world tell a child about Jesus, God’s Greatest Gift. Many of them will grow in their faith and learn how to tell friends and family about Him through our discipleship program called The Greatest Journey.
We are sharing God’s Word with dozens of unreached groups and going to hard-to reach places to make His Name known.
This has resulted in more than 2 million children making decisions for Christ and over 1,000 churches being started in one year! For example, there’s now a church in a remote village in Namibia among the Himba unreached people group.
“Before we had never heard of Jesus,” said Pastor Kuyelia, leader of the new church. “Now, we have abandoned witch doctors and seek God alone in prayer and worship.”
We’re thankful for all those who have faithfully prayed for Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan’s Purse project. You can join us in packing shoeboxes so that more children in the remote corners of the world can hear the Good News of the Gospel.
You may pick up a shoe box, in the foyer along with a brochure and item list. If you would like to make a donation please mark your check “Shoebox.”
Bring your packed boxes on Sunday Oct. 25, Rev. John Han will bless the boxes.
Be sure and see the W.O.W. (Worship Outside the Walls) photos in the church foyers.

Rev. John Han To Visit Families
Rev. John Han will be visiting families in the church congregation at their home. Plans are to visit 2 families a week until the week before Thanksgiving. If you would like to be
placed on the schedule call Angie Heck in the church office, during office hours, 972-937-2344. Rev. John Han asks to visit outside your home in lawn chairs. He will wear a mask and asks that you wear one as well. It is best if your visit is early in the morning (9:00 a.m.) to avoid the hottest part of the day.
