Clicking the “Information” icon will provide general information about the Tracing, Case or Quiz such as the contributing author.

Let’s take a quick look at how activities work and each optional feature.

Questions
Answer Choices
Activities consist of one or more questions.
Answer choices are not immediately displayed, so as to give you time to ponder the question without cueing.
Select the Answer Choices button after reviewing any supporting information provided.
This information will be available through a variety of features we will now discuss.

ECGviewer
Activities may include one or more surface ECGs or intracardiac tracings shown via the ECGviewer.
The ECGviewer contains a variety of useful tools.Detailed instructions on the use of these tools is provided in the ECGviewer itself.

The Plumb Line tool is always available and aids in comparing timing across different portions of the ECG.

The Calipers tool is used in the same way as normal calipers.

The Magnifier tool (2X) enables closer examination of complexes.
When the magnifier is used with the other tools, appropriate scaling occurs. Thus, the tools remain accurate.

The Ruler tool can be dragged anywhere in the ECG.

You can create your own ladder diagram using the Ladder Diagram tool. Learner-Generated

The author may provide you with a pre-constructed ladder diagram.
This diagram is indicated with a green checkmark as shown.

The Overlay tool allows you to “grab” a part of the ECG, drag it, and superimpose it on another part of the ECG for comparison of morphology and timing.

The Interpret ECG tool is another feature that may be available on some questions.
It allows you to specify multiple diagnoses for a given ECG.
It is accessed via the Interpret ECG button as shown.

Selections are made via the simulated highlighter as shown.
Feedback is provided after you click the Check Answers button.
The View ECG button returns you to the ECG.

Image Viewer
A variety of images may be provided in questions, feedback, hints or summaries.
Clicking on any image will open the Image Viewer, which allows you to zoom in and out and pan images as needed.
The Image Viewer can also be repositioned to allow underlying information to be visible.

Hints
The question author may provide one or more hints.
You are not required to view these hints.

Poll Users
The Poll Users features provides a bar chart illustrating other learners’ previous choices.

Answer Feedback and Question SummaryExplanatory feedback on your answer choice is typically provided.
You may receive additional discussion via the Summary button.
Feedback and Summaries may contain supporting images.

Completion
If there are more questions to be completed, you will see a “Next Question” button.
If you’ve reached the end of the activity, you will see a “Done” button and the window will automatically be closed for you, returning you to the point where you accessed the activity.
Either a “Next Question” or “Done” button will be displayed.

Quiz Scores
Quizzes are very similar to Cases and Tracings except scores are kept.
Your scores on previously taken quizzes are available to you, and only to you.
You can clear your score for a quiz, thus enabling you to take the quiz again.
You do not have to complete a quiz at one sitting. Your scores are preserved across sessions.
