As March comes to a close and the convention season approaches its end, one thing has been on the mind of the Psi and Epsilon Kappa chapters: making WDC 2014 as amazing of an experience as it can be. From hotels to workshops to panels, we’ve been trying to make every detail perfect for when you all arrive. Both chapters are extremely excited to welcome you to our beautiful city and to share all it has to offer. If you are a fan of seeing old friends, caucusing long into the night, or having an opportunity to finally visit Disneyland, we hope to see you on March 28th.

Omega - TBSigma

Hi All!In the past couple of months TBS Omega has accomplished a lot! In December, we put through Epsilon Delta, a class of 11 wonderful bandspeople! We also had our 50th anniversary at a joint service project called Children’s Colony with KKPsi Omega! Children’s Colony is a home to many people with mental handicaps and we have had the privilege of playing Christmas and pep tunes for them for 50 years! We recruited some members from the Pride of Arizona marching band and it was a big success! We just completed our first service project of the semester at the Hundred Palms Nursing Home, a project started by one of our sisters. Our wonderful VPA (and District VPSP) is in the process of putting together a Women In Music speaker event for us and we’re all really excited. We also just had our recruitment week for the spring semester and we’re stoked to see what wonderful new members will be joining us. Hope everyone is having a great semester! MLITB!

January 2014

What’s up, Western District? TBS Omega is super excited to be putting through Epsilon Epsilon, our newest class of 8! We will be having our Second Degree on April 5! Over the past month, we have completed several service projects, including Emerge, where we played for children who have experienced domestic violence in their home, and Adopt-A-Street, where we picked up trash along a major street near our campus! We have many more to come in April, including several projects with the Girl Scouts. We were very excited to send sisters to DLC and Arizona State Days, and we are really looking forward to meeting everyone at WDC! MLITB!

Gamma Kappa hosted Arizona State Days this year! Arizona State Days went very smoothly with a lot of bonding. Brothers and Sisters were able to watch NAU’s Symphonic Band perform their concert as well as enjoy the pep band at a basketball game. We played several types of games and enjoy the scenery and weather.

Gamma Kappa is very excited for WDC in LA! We are very excited to see everyone and to attend all the excited workshops scheduled.

Gamma Kappa has also finally received Snarky Sharky. It has been over five years since the WD mascot has been in Flagstaff for Gamma Kappa and Alpha Chi to have and share. He will be traveling to WDC to see everyone!

Hello Brothers and Sisters! Iota Kappa has been up to plenty these past few months. This semester we put through our Rho Class, made up of six outstanding Brothers: Randy Bauer, Chasz Davis, Matt Estes, Emalee Fischer, Alexander Hill, and Amber Stiles. They did so much to prepare for being Active and have been working hard ever since passing through. This semester has been characterized by travel and lots of it. We started off by putting on the First Degree of the Alpha Alpha Colony at University of Nevada – Reno. We took an eight hour drive there, put it on, and drove back the same night to be back to classes the next morning. They are excited to continue the colonization process and to be Active Brothers in the not-too-distant future. The next week we drove the 12 hour drive to Seattle for DLC where almost our entire Chapter was able to attend. Some of our Brothers then drove to Salt Lake City for States Days and then we had some Brothers make the trip for Nu Epsilon’s first ever Third Degree as an Active Chapter. This article is being written from Las Vegas for the Mountain West Basketball Tournament where we have had Brothers meet up with other chapters from the Mountain West and PAC conferences. Now we just await to drive down to Los Angeles during our Spring Break for WESTERN DISTRICT CONVENTION! We hope to see you all there!

Iota Pi- KKPsiIota Pi has been very busy in the past two months. We got the opportunity to march in the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade where we had a band off with the UC Davis Aggie Band, after which we proceeded to march down the parade route. We had not marched in any large parades before, so we had to dedicate multiple Saturdays in preparation. Our hard work definitely paid off though - we won first place in the Adult Marching Band category! Since the parade, we have proceeded to work on our current events such as putting through our Alpha Alpha class; we’re proud to have made it through the entire Greek alphabet. We have 29 brothers that are very excited to attend WDC in a few days!

This semester, Lambda Psi has decided not to take a candidate class. With so many senior members graduating, we are taking the semester to teach each other the traditions and rituals of Kappa Kappa Psi. Not only are we learning from each other, we are forming stronger bonds of friendship through lessons, events, and service. Lambda Psi has been busy with traveling, fundraising, and concert receptions! We recentlyhosted receptions for three days in a row for the SJSU Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra. Many of our Pep band members just traveled to Las Vegas and even had the chance to mingle with Brother from different chapters. Members of our Wind Ensemble traveled and performed in Reno. For fun, we had a pajama party movie night in the music building where we watched Monsters University (fitting!) andTron. Currently, we are getting excited for WDC and finishing up our preparations for a smooth trip. We hope to see you all there!
