Rev. Curt McKee THIS GOSPEL As Jesus described signs of the end of the age, he said these words: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). The gospel preached in the whole world, a testimony to all nations, that is a tall task indeed. As I ponder these words, I become aware that the gospel is going to more and more places. The scriptures are not yet in every language but do exist in many. As I hear of more and more places receiving the gospel, I become excited. The good news of Jesus’ saving power is not to be kept to ourselves. It is for sharing. Whether that involves across the street with our neighbors or trips to other countries, we have the privilege of proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom with our lives. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be part of this worldwide movement. Christ who is in us compels us to be involved in every way possible. May we pray for the nations where the gospel is hardly known or has not yet been proclaimed. May we make efforts either to go or to help others who feel called to go. The gospel is the best news of all! We have it, we are called to share it. May we do so, not from a sense of duty but rather because of the joy it brings in our lives and to the lives of others. The gospel is life changing. When our light shines, others see and become invited to take part in this tall task of sharing the gospel.
