S t. Bridget (or Brigid) of Kildare is one of the three major patron saints of Ireland along with Saint Patrick and Saint Columba. Saint Bridget’s faith and labors for
the Lord are remembered among the Irish people through prayers, sacred places, blessings and customs. St. Bridget was an extraordinary woman of faith: strong in her mission, loyal to the Lord, faithful to the Church, generous to the poor and hospitable to missionaries. St. Bridget laid strong foundations for the Church in Ireland. Her feast day is February 1st, the first day of the Celtic Spring.

Pastor’s Words Lent is a time to renew ourselves as Christians. It is also an opportune time to renew some of our parish ministries. Although all of our liturgical ministers are doing a great job, it is good to expand the num-ber of people who volunteer in many ways. These are the needs we have at present:
Lectors/Readers - those who read the Scriptures at Mass Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion -
to bring Communion to the homebound Ushers - we can always use ushers to help with the collections and an orderly reception of Holy Communion at Mass Counters - teams that count and deposit the weekly collections Altar servers - as our more experienced servers move on, we need to train new severs to be close to the Mass and learn ‘public presence.”
I want to emphasize that all our current liturgical ministers are doing a great job, but people do get sick, go on vacation or have family emergencies. We need to expand our roster. Please consider volunteering for one of these ministries.

Divine Mercy Reflection for the Week of February 25, 2018 Divine Mercy said: “Listen, My daughter, although all the works that come into being by My will are exposed to great sufferings, consider whether any of them has been subject to greater difficulties than that work which is directly Mine—the work of Redemption...” (St. Faustina Diary, 1643)
Are you New to Our Parish? Registration forms are available in the narthex. Please ask an usher for assistance. You may return this form to one of the ushers or place it in the collection basket.

Saint of the Week:Anne Line
Anne was born during the 16th century in Essex, England into a
strict Calvinist family. When Anne and her brother converted to
Catholicism, they were disowned and disinherited from their fami-ly. Anne soon thereafter married Roger Line, also a Catholic. Roger was captured on his way to Mass,
imprisoned, and then exiled to Flanders where he died. Anne re-mained in England and operated safe houses for priests and other Catholics. In 1601 her house was raided shortly before Mass, and the altar prepared for Mass was the proof needed for her arrest.
Anne was convicted and died as a martyr on the gallows.
