    JOHNSON COUNTY 4-H SWINE

    PROGRAM APPLICATION

This program is open to all junior 4-H members

(regardless if they have participated prior) and to any

intermediate or senior member who have not previ-

ously participated in a swine project. The program is

designed to educate youth about the pork industry.

    How the program works:

In late March, 6 healthy feeder pigs will be delivered

to the youth chosen for this program. The 4-H mem-

all costs incurred. The member will exhibit the pigs at

the Johnson County 4-H fair. The pigs will be sold at

an auction at the end of the fair. The original cost of

the pigs will be returned to the Johnson County Pork

Council and the 4-H member will keep the remainder.

    IS YOUR FSQA CERTIFICATION

    CURRENT?

You can check your FSQA certification expiration

date by logging into your 4-H Online account and

Cattle, Dairy Goat, Meat Goat, Sheep, Poultry, Swine,

or Rabbit, FSQA (Food Safety Quality Assurance) is

els and date of training. It is recommended that youth

attend the full FSQA training prior to attempting to

take the test! Parents are welcome to sit in on the

    trainings as well!
