Feast of All Saints “The Communion of Saints”

When we speak of the “communion of saints” we sum up one of the most important dogmas revealed to us by our holy Catholic Faith… To souls bound together by this chain of faith, hope and love time is as though it were not, and real separation is impossible. Life passes away swiftly enough, and sooner or later, death must come to all of us, but even death, to souls in grace, is but a passing change, and when we mourn for those whom it has taken from us, we “sorrow not as others, who have no hope.” On the contrary, we may truly say that human affection finds in death its surest triumph. True love is stronger than death and therefore many waters cannot quench it, neither can floods drown it. It builds a bridge across that dark abyss, which is so terrifying to our weakness and that bridge is the Communion of Saints. Our God, as our Lord Jesus Christ himself reminds us, is not the God of the dead but of the living. The task before us is to contemplate this life of grace in the world to come, to see and understand, as far as possible, all that faith can tell us of the dead who die in the Lord and therefore are truly blessed. Reflection Life in the presence or God is the goal for which we have been crated. How are you grasp your sainthood now? What do you most want to understand about life with God and the saints?

All Souls’ Day Monday, November 2nd is All Souls’ Day. Masses are the same as the weekday schedule. Masses will be in the monastery chapel. If you wish to have a loved one remembered during the month of November, please, fill out one of the envelopes either at the front of the church or in your box of envelopes and place it with your donation in the basket in front of the altar.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament On Thursday November 5th there will be Silent Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the Church. All are invited to attend.

Religious Education Religious Education Classes are every Saturday in Center Guadalupe, 9:30 to 11:30. Just a reminder, students must attend Mass and class every week, more than 3 absences will result in repeating the class.

Día de los Difuntos El lunes 2 de noviembre es día de los fieles difuntos, si

usted desea que se les recuerde a sus seres queridos

cajas de sobres. Puede poner los nombres con una

ofrenda y ponerlo en la canasta que está en el altar.

Adoración al Santísimo Sacramento El jueves 5 de noviembre tendremos Adoración al

Santísimo en la iglesia desde las 7:30pm - 8:30pm.

Encuentro para Ministros Se les invita a los Ministros de Eucaristía que habrá un

encuentro El 7, de Noviembre, en el Lyceum desde las

9am a 11am. También se invita a aquellos que les

gustaría serlo, pueden comunicarse a la oficina para

hablar con el P. Tom.

Flea Market El P. Paco desde México, les invita a cooperar en un

Flea Market que se tendrá para recaudar fondos para

las hermanas de Clausura Agustinas Recoletas. Sera el

8 de noviembre en el patio de la iglesia. Gracias de

Fiesta de Navidad El sábado 12 de diciembre tendremos la fiesta de

Navidad. Lugar La Fortuna. Los interesados en comprar

A Pastor is to care for his people, preach the good news of Jesus Christ, and make them holy by celebrating the Sacraments. He works in harmony with his Bishop, “to bring the faithful together like a unified family so that they may be led effectively through Christ in the Holy Spirit to the Father”. (Instruction in the Rite of Ordination to the Priesthood.). As a true leader, he should listen to his people and discover their needs. Mis Estimados Feligreses: Por la presente me complace informarles que hoy he designado al Padre Thomas Joseph Devine como párroco de la Iglesia Holy Family. El Padre Devine llega con muchos años de amplia experiencia pastoral. En todas sus responsabilidades ha sido un fiel representante del Señor, atendiendo a las necesidades de sus feligreses con esmerada entrega y gran celo. El verdadero pastor debe velar por sus feligreses, predicar el evangelio de Jesucristo, y santificarlos por medio de la celebración de los sacramentos. Obra conjuntamente con el obispo “para unir a los fieles en una misma familia para que sean conducidos eficazmente por Cristo en el Espíritu Santo al Padre” (Instrucción Sobre El Rito De La Ordinación Al Sacerdocio). Como buen líder debe escuchar a sus feligreses y descubrir sus necesidades. Consultará con frecuencia a su Concilio Parroquial y trabajará con él en llevar a cabo la misión de Cristo en su parroquia. “Los pastores son los que con su trato y su trabajo pastoral diario exponen al mundo el rostro de la Iglesia”( Gaudium Et Spes” N. 43). Ruego que acojan al Padre Devine calurosamente y cooperen con él en su nuevo oficio como párroco.
