Mecca Maxima is an Australian brand synonymous with a curated offering of the best global cosmetics. Red Design Group was engaged to support the roll-out of the new Mecca Maxima brand, a one-stop beauty customer experience, across different formats including department store concessions, airport tenancies, and stand-alone stores.

When Toyota decided to go to locations where the customer shops rather than the traditional dealership model, it commissioned the Red Design Group to design the first Toyota Shopping Centre Retail Store at Rouse Hill.

The interior is inspired by the product, bringing the curved shape and form of the vehicles into the overall interior and joinery items of the showroom The space delivers a welcoming environment where the store becomes the canvas for the product and the customers can learn, view and interact with the vehicles through the use of kiosks and digital screens.

Positioned in the art grunge scene of Melbourne’s iconic Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, Wine Republic is a new concept store redefining the humble bottle shop.

With the rise of the inner city craft markets and Fitzroy’s established reputation for street art, our aim was to introduce an arts focus incorporating sculptural talking points, illustrations and visual merchandising.

Our brief was to elevate the Rogerseller brand beyond the reach of competitors, redefining the bathroom showroom market while retaining existing, and attracting new customers.

We wanted to play on the juxtaposition of an urban grunge setting in industrial Richmond, inserting a layer of slick design into the historic building envelope and functional venue that is welcoming, luxurious and comfortable.

RED created The Retail Evolution Lab for AOpen that made the product the hero within an immersive, interactive space. The gallery like white palette provides an ideal space to showcase the product inclusive of a working café.

RED has a thorough understanding of digital devices, integration with interior architecture and the contribution that they make in the customer journey to add sales revenue to any business.

Trading in Melbourne since 1890, Henry Bucks embarked on a journey that has reinvented their brand through design led and generational change to make it more relevant to a broader younger demographic.

Red Design Group designed the interiors and brand identity for this flagship store with the understanding that their client wanted to create an upmarket, boutique-style pharmacy. The client sought to emulate the European apothecary and target a discerning, style-conscious customer, delivering personalised prescriptions.

This Australian brand is a retail food concept based on organic and natural foods which provide a healthier way of life. Red Design Group worked on bringing together over 30 stores around the eastern states of Australia. Using natural materials to create a rustic, market feel, the overall result is a unique blend of products that promote a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.

Red Design Group were commissioned to work on Project Energise, a strategic plan to reinvigorate the business nationally through brand re-positioning, new products, and a new store format.

Three store layouts were developed to suit different locations and environments: a small CBD store, a medium sized suburban store and a large suburban store with fuel.

Well versed in the business of Department Stores, RED listened to the customer which in this case was the youth customer who wanted a space of their own to shop in the Myer Basement.

The result is was dynamic space filled with colour and theatre that delivers an experience that truly presents the merchandise in a unique manner.

“The unique slatted ceiling cleverly disguises a grid which allows products to be hung from above anywhere in the store.”

The brief was to redesign eight boutiques and design two new outlets with the objective of elevating the brand in the market place without losing the distinct personality of each store. Unlike most retail chains where replication of design is paramount, the uniqueness of each Mimco boutique created challenges in terms of product ranging. No two stores are the same, nor are their fixtures and fittings.

Red Design Group worked with the client to define the Johnny Bigg brand attributes. Bold, confident, urban, authentic, irreverent, and gusto were words that they agreed would shape the brand personality.

Referencing these attributes, the design process began. All brand elements from the brandmark through to swings tags, labels, signage, boxes, shopping bags, posters and the interiors were designed by Red Design Group.

Our client wanted the store to be edgy, humorous, and uniquely charismatic to highlight the whimsical nature of the product. It was not to be simply a shop, it had to be a destination and an experience.

The All Day Dining Restaurant has been designed to be a light, breezy, textural and comfortable environment, making the most of the Western Australian climate and light. The interior echoes classical design but with a contemporary edge, blending styles with the use of bleached timbers, white marble and luxurious custom carpet, bespoke furniture and light fittings.

alongside Crown Resorts to deliver premium design premium F&B offers inclusive of restaurants, cafes, gaming rooms, retail offers, private lounges and lobbies.La Vie at Crown Perth is an example of a highly detailed

project full of polished finishes that provides a special place for Crown patrons to socialize.The articulation of colour facetted glass, form , shape and brand combine to deliver an outstanding jewel in the Crown offer.

Red Design Group worked with Guillaume Brahimi and Crown for a second time to bring the renowned chef’s signature Bistro Guillaume to Perth.

The Perth Bistro Guillaume is situated in a prime location off the main lobby of Crown, overlooking the hotel’s lavish new pool development. The brief sought to carry over some defining elements associated with the Melbourne entity whilst maintaining a unique palette for a distinctive and fresh identity.

Our client wished to create a more inviting and intimate space, feeling Café Baci was often overlooked due to a lack of seating options and confusion around the demarcation of the Cafe and Crown’s other precincts.

Honeycomb shaped anodised aluminium light-fittings were custom designed to foster an intimate dining experience, and the striking herringbone-patterned feature wall gives the Café’s entry point more prominence.

Calatrava offer desserts and coffee with a special emphasis on their delicious gelato. After operating in the Crown Casino food court under a different name, our clients desired a new brand, creating a more boutique offering and defining a more classic, luxurious brand position.

After considering the project brief, Red Design Group took to researching the Italian way of life with the aim of evoking this romantic European feel and sense of nostalgia. We studied the patisseries found in the grand central cities of Italy, rich environments that combine coffee aromas with the visual delights of cakes, biscuits, and gelato.

As competition for the entertainment dollar increases, clubs need to constantly evolve and stay relevant to their clientele.

The recently refurbished Earlwood Bardwell Park RSL in Sydney is a perfect example where a considered design makes a significant difference to the future of the club.

RED has elevated the existing RSL offering and positioned the club favourably for the future. The result is an inspiring and functional venue that is welcoming, luxurious and comfortable.

RED was first commissioned to give the new entry lobby a 5-star resort ambience and create a new café that welcomes members on entry. The hues of local parkland and bays inspired the fitout of the club’s opulent new lobby and Gymea café.

A new brand was developed and applied to signage, stationery, staff uniforms and marketing. Together the graphic and interior convey a consistent message.
