1.1 Particular instructions for operations and interventions
This user manual does not list the lockingoutprocedures that must be applied. Theinterventions described are carried out on
deenergized equipment (in the course ofbeing installed) or locked out (nonoperational).
Whilst commissioning and operating theproduct all general safety instructions forelectrical applications (protective gloves,
insulating stool, etc.) must be respected, thisin addition to the standard operatinginstructions.
All operations must be completed oncestarted.
The durations (for completing the operations
mentioned) given in the maintenance tablesare purely an indication and depend ononsite conditions.
1.2 Protection equipments
Only qualified and accredited people canoperate on our products. They must beequipped with all the correct protectiveequipment required for the task beingperformed.
A qualified person is one who has the skillsand knowledge related to the construction,installation and operation of electricalequipment and has received safety training torecognize and avoid the hazards involved.
Except when it is imposed, the wearing of thegloves has been voluntarily limited in thismanual so as to have clear visuals of thehands and operations described.

3.1 Functional mechanical interlocks
The FBX switchboard is equipped withinternal mechanical interlocks, calledfunctional, intended to avoid any kind ofoperating error.
It is necessary to know these interlocks inorder to operate the switchgear correctly. CAUTION
Function Sb: The disconnection or earthingoperation can only be carried out oncesuitably adapted lockout operations havebeen implemented on the network.

4.1 Reminder for Manual Operations
The operating manoeuvres are made withoutany special effort. Nevertheless, the forcerequired is greater for latching controls (T1 &T2) than for tumbler switches (C).
All movements of the lever must be frank andcomplete.
The lever moves through approximately 95.

5.1 Opening the earthing switch
Check that the tag is fully lowered.
Insert the appropriate lever (smallerdiameter) into the earthing switch socket.
Grasp the lever with both hands. Lift the lever: the earthing switch is nowin the open position.
Remove the lever.
5.2 Closing the earthing switch
NOTICE
Before closing the earthing switch, ensurethere is no voltage across the indicator units(see corresponding manual 2.1).
Check that the tag is fully lowered.
Hold the locking tab open to the right. Insert the appropriate lever (smaller
diameter) into the earthing switch socket.
Grasp the lever with both hands. Pull the lever down: the earthing switchis closed.
Remove the lever.

7.5 Closing the circuit breaker [Line Isolator closed]
Insert the appropriate lever into thecircuit breaker socket.
Grasp the lever with both hands.
Lower the lever to its lowest position andrelease slowly (to ensure that theholdopen latch is engaged): The switch
is now held permanently open.
Lift the lever fully: The circuit breaker isnow closed.
Remove the lever.
7.6 Opening the circuit breaker [Line Isolator closed]
NB: The switch can also be opened using apushbutton (optional) or an electrical control.
Insert the appropriate lever into thecircuit breaker socket.
Grasp the lever with both hands. Lower the lever through approximately20: The circuit breaker is now open.
Remove the lever.

9.1 Movements of motorised control mechanisms [Optional]
If the FBX switchboard is fitted with motorisedcontrols (optional), the various functions canbe energised/deenergised remotely inaccordance with the circuit diagram suppliedas part of the contract.
For functions T1 and T2, opening operationscan also be triggered by a pushbutton(optional) or electrical controls.
CAUTION
Function Sb: The disconnection or earthingoperation can only be carried out oncesuitably adapted lockout operations havebeen implemented on the network.
9.2 Manual emergency movements of motorised controls
In the event of an outage of the motor supplysource, a backup control can be used tocomplete a manoeuvre underway or to carryout manual manoeuvres.
The position of the indicators should beverified after each operation.
If the supply is reestablished whilst thehandle is inserted, it will be pushed out of thesocket.
NOTICE
When the earthing switch is closed thebackup manual control lever cannot be fitted(Except for T2).

These must be carried out by Schneider Electric or by a specialised technician trained by SchneiderElectric when starting the procedures, with the appropriate specific equipment.

Replacement of a fuse
CAUTION
For an apparently single phase fault, it isimperativethat all 3 fuses be replaced.
CAUTION
The body of a fuse can become very hotfollowing a short circuit. Take standard
precautions (leather gloves) before startingwork.
CAUTION
Whenever changing or fitting a fuse, close thecompartment immediately afterwards to avoid
letting dust and humidity enter.

Ensure that the function's earthing switchis closed.
Open the compartment using the
corresponding key.
Lift the latch and open the panel. The end plugs on the fuse holders arenow accessible.
Use clean leather gloves.
Pull the fuse and plug towards youwithout twisting. Slowly remove the plug/fuse assembly.
Caution! this may be hot. Place the assembly on a clean, flat
surface.
CAUTION Unscrew the fixing screw.
Remove the blown fuse from the plug.
For fuses of up to 12kV, recover the adapterplugged onto the back of the fuse.
NOTICE
Fit the replacement fuse: Label and emboss the plug side, Label opposite the fuse holder.

For fuses of up to 12 kV: Fit an adapteronto the other end of the fuse.
Make sure the fitted assembly (plug andfuse) is clean.
1. Slide this assembly into the fuseholders, aligning the lug on the plug withthe slot in the holder.
Do not twist the assembly when inserting.

2. The lug on the plug must click into theslot in the fuse holder.

Now fit the other two fuses.

12.1 Preparation of the function
NOTICEImplement lockout rules in accordance withthe regulations specific to each network.
Deenergize the loadbreak switch and closethe earthing switch (See correspondingchapter).
Remove the cable compartment accesspanel.
12.2 Cable testing with plug-in `T' piece connectors (busbar energized)
1. Remove the end panel cover.

Current injection is via the braid.
After the test, reconnect the earthing
braid to the general earthing circuit.

13.1 General characteristics
Type of Insulating Gas:Sulphur Hexafluoride (SF6) iaw IEC60376.
Each switchboard comprises a tank, filledwith SF6 gas, designed as a pressurised,sealedunit system in accordance with therequirements of IEC622711.
During the expected operating life and undernormal operating conditions the gas shouldnot need topping up.

Never pierce the pressurised tank!

Never attempt to open the tank.
13.2 Filling pressure
At 20C the filling pressure is 0.030 MPa(0.13 MPa absolute).
A pressure gauge (on option) enablesthe SF6 gas pressure to be ensured,depending on the temperature
(5 curves).
The 2 black lines (on the left),correspond to an internal pressure equalto the atmospheric pressure
(0.1 MPa absolute).
Specific manometer (optional) foraltitudes higher than 1000 m.
