When looking at the WGSN website, I saw ver clear organization of information and notices that the magazine clearly focuses on 5 main components. Those 5 major components are as follows: Inspiration & Design, Insight & Analysis, Product Categories, Catwalks, and all the latest reports on fashion.

L'Oréal to outperform market in 2013 – CEO

! This article focused on the increased profit sales L’Oreal had in 2012 and their goal to expand that in 2013. L’oreal wants to increase their profits even more this year. They had a very successful year last year as they expanded to keep their retail costs low. They anticipate to continue this line of success worldwide. They expect to expand their sales growth faster then any other global cosmetic market after having such high rises of profits last year. major key points the article touched upon were the increasing numbers that L’Oreal had last year around the world. ! In my opinion L’Oreal is a great brand and I do believe that their sales will continue to increase because they are such a reliable brand and very affordable compared to other cosmetic brands. Since this brand is so well-known, it makes it easier for L’Oreal to sell their products. It is a common brand that most people go to when they do not want to purchase the expensive high end cosmetics.

Floral Baby doll Dresses

! Currently popular in fashion today are the floral baby doll dresses, that were made popular back in the 1990’s. These dresses are designed with floral print and are usually worn with tights, and a pair of Mary-Jane platforms or ankle boots. You see celebrities wearing this look all of the time.

I did not notice much of a difference between this style today and the way it was back in the 90’s, but possibly today’s trend maybe a little but shorter then it was back in the day. It contains pretty much all of the elements it contained in the 90’s, which was this concept of the floral print.

New Beauty Brand: B. Skincare & B.Makeup

! This article introduced a new skin care and makeup line is that launching in the UK and is said to have “international potential”. A new beauty brand named “B” being retailed by a Superdrug has come up with a new affordable, standalone brand beauty line. This already has shown success in Britain and beyond that with rival brands attempting the same model. This idea has the potential to become a future development because of the fact that Superdrug is owned by Hong Kong.This article also outlined in detail the plan that has been formulated for this brand of new cosmetics. It gave a clear bulleted list of the objectives they hold for the brand.

Entry #4: MEN’S TREND: February 28, 2013

Sneaker����������� ������������������  Heads! A fashion trend that is popular today in the men’s market is the sneaker head trend. It is mostly used by men between the ages of 16 to early 20s. The trend is basically made up of popular nike t-shirts or hoodies, a snap-back hat, and the latest pair of Jordan's. My opinion of the trend is I like it, but at the same time I feel like it allows younger men to dress way to casual. Sneaker heads tend to always want to look sporty while wearing their Jordan’s. I personally think the trend shouldn’t be worn daily because it makes guys always look just casual. I wouldn’t want to go to a fancy restaurant and the guy I'm with be wearing gym shoes and a t-shirt. !! I interviewed Joe. He is avid wearer of the sneaker head trend. He loves collecting all the Jordan’s that come out and even camps out for them if necessary. He said he likes the trend because it allows him to express himself and it makes him look fresh. He doesn't get every shoe that releases but he looks for the ones he loves or just simply look good according to his style and taste. He does admit that being a sneaker head can get quite expensive.

Nashville

! Since this show is based on the lives of two famous country music singers, I saw a lot of trends that could possibly emerge, if they haven’t already. One of the main character's, which is played by Hayden Panettiere is a country music star, with a pop twist. She wears more luxurious outfits then your average country music star. Outfits that consist of very tight fitted dresses, to short shorts with heels. Another trend that came out for a little bit but faded away was cowboy boots. Women wearing cowboy boots is really big in this so, which could potentially bring this trend back into style, being that this show has become very popular. Cowboy boots can be paired with almost anything, like dresses, skirts and shorts. It is a great look, I own a pair myself!
