Famous People of the Renaissance and Enlightenment Project Name:________________________________________________________ Due Date: Friday April 12, 2013 Famous Person:_____________________________________________________________ You will be creating an educational PowerPoint about a famous person from the Renaissance and Enlightenment. You will be randomly picking a person to create a PowerPoint about. Your PowerPoint must include the following: 1. Title Slide: Name of the person, birth, death, and where they were from. Your name(s) must be on the first slide. 2. Biography Slides: 2-5 slides of information about their childhood, parents, siblings, schooling, marriage, family, etc. 3. Why the were Famous Slides: 2-5 slides of information about why they were a famous person of the Renaissance – this could be discoveries, works of art, books and manuscripts they wrote, what they did as a ruler, etc. 4. Resource Slide: You need to use 2 or more resources and they need to be listed at the end of your PowerPoint. If you used a book write the Title and Author. If you used a website, you need to include the web address (the full address, not just www.google.com, it has to be the specific address that you found the information). Remember, you cannot use wikipedia as a resource. I do have a few books about the Renaissance that could have information about your person. 5. PICTURES!!! You need to include at least 3 pictures in your PowerPoint. One has to be picture of that person. The others can be pictures of where they lived, what they wrote or made (like paintings, sculptures, etc), ships they used. 6. Creativity and Spelling/Grammar: You must be careful with spelling and grammar. I will also be grading you on your creativity. You can even dress up in costume when you present. You can receive bonus points for extra creativity. Do not go overboard with animation schemes and crazy fonts. Everyone has to be able watch your presentation and be able to read everything!!! 7. Presentation: You will be presenting your PowerPoint to the class. Your presentation must be 3-5 minutes long. Submitting your project: Your Project must be submitted to me on the school website. The assignment will be posted on my Social Studies page. You will submit your final project here. Your project must be submitted by midnight on Friday April 12th On the reverse side is the grading rubric. Please make sure you meet all the criteria to receive full credit

for this project. It is worth 100 points!!!
